that was O'Brien's feedback during the interview process when the Texans asked him.

will be interesting to see if the Texans' front office follows suit with their coach.

You guys think he could take the punishment in the NFL? He looks to frail to me and too much of his game is based on the run.

If Russell Wilson can make the adjustments I think with the right coaching he could have success. It depends where he goes but he could be fine.

word from a friend in Tampa is Lovie smith is gonna be the new head coach, just interesting info I heard recently.

Russel Wilson is a very different QB imo than JF. Wilson is very smart about is running, takes what they give him and avoids hits. JF reminds me more of RG3 and will take folks on which is a disaster for someone his size in the NFL.

he's actually a pocket passer first and is right up there with Bridgewater in that category. Manziel is very comfortable in the pocket.

it's true around 15% of A&M play calls have been for Manziel option reads, but the vast majority of his runs come when he's feeling pressure. obviously he wouldn't have direct run plays called for him in the NFL.

Manziel's intangibles, leadership, and the fact he's faced the best competition make him possible at #1.

of course he'd sell a lot of tickets for the Texans as well.

that's definitely true at this point, Manziel will need to change this area in his game in the pros. his feelings of invincibility are to be admired and provide a lot of energy for him team, but they'll almost certainly shorten his pro career if he doesn't become more selective.

It's a business. He will fill the seats. His ego will be the talk of the town. Gotta admit…he is fun to watch play football.

manziel will get killed in the NFL. receivers don't run wide open all game like in college. he is not a pro prospect at all. bill o' brien is not only a lying traitor, he has no pro head coaching skills. him and manziel guarantee the first pick in the following draft for houston as well. NO CHANCE AT ALL.

it's clear your bizarre anger for Bill O'Brien makes it impossible for you to engage in rational discussion. there's so many different things wrong with your post it's mind blowing.

the Texans will definitely consider Manziel at #1 for a whole slew of different reasons, sorry that upsets you.

Lol, you're delusional. Are we even talking about the same guy? He is dropping dimes to guys in stride all over the field.

It's funny how rg3 is now a disaster. 2 years in and it's like the guy can't be successful. If rg3 and manziel are similar then manziel a future is bright. Still a lot if chapters in rg3s career, lets not act like he is a failure. Come on man.

exactly. the financial bottom line will always be the first objective in professional sports. Manziel on the Texans would provide a ton of attention to the franchise (branding) and help steal some of the spotlight away from the Cowboys. it's a no brainer decision for the Texans' front office in that regard.

in addition, Manziel is a far more vocal and enthusiastic leader than Bridgewater. those are huge intangibles for an NFL QB to have and Manziel dominates Bridgewater in this category. Manziel has faced far far better competition than Bridgewater as well, it's not even close. that also makes him a better pro prospect.

If/when Manziel does leave A & M is a 4-8 team next year, pathetic defense. I do not understand all the love Sumlin is getting from the NFL riding Johnny Footballer's coattails.....

Excellent minority coach, do you see how hard his players play for him? Don't forget his job as a pro HC won't be to coach up a bunch of freshman and sophomores on defense.

Not it to mention how well he has handled all the Manziel media drama...

You better be right with this pick or else it sets you back another couple years at least.

Excellent coach, really? W/O Manziel these past 2 years, this is a losing team pure and simple. Maybe some day he will prove to be an excellent head coach and deserve a shot at the NFL. That day isn't now. Did Jack Bicknell get a shot at the NFL because a 1 man team named Doug Flutie won a bunch of games for him at Boston College? Did Pat Jones get a shot at the NFL because Barry Sanders won a ton of games for him at Oklahoma State?

that makes no sense. either way, Manziel isn't going any lower than #2, so i assume you'll rag on whichever team takes him top 2?

the downside for the Texans not to take Manziel #1 would be too much to risk. why let him leave the state of Texas only to go St. Louis or Jacksonville where they can reap all the financial benefits? and then what if he also becomes a real star in the league? that would go down as the worst non-pick in league history and the Texans can't risk that.

it's not like we're talking about the Texans making some outlandish reach at taking him #1 instead of another team taking him #2. he's going top 2 regardless.

I wish JF the best, but when you miss in the top 5 it does set you back, rule changes have tried to mitigate, but just look at the Raiders for example.
