Easy answer ... UAB !!! Who have they beaten ? I went to there schedule and they have beaten nobody in the top ranked 25 !! Nobody !! They are going and Notre Dame who was 9-7 in the Big East is staying home.. Notre Dame has defeated Boston College, Connecticut, Villanova, Road victories over Indiana and West Virginia. All of these teams are in the tournament ! What a farce !

EVeryone talking about N. Iowa and UAB say that Notre Dame beat a weak non-conf schedule and they are right.....

However they also had more QUALITY WINS, than alot of the 'bubble teams" that just made it.....Including those that u mention Kermit...being +.500 in a conference as tough as the big east is no easy task, especially the way it was weighted this year for TV matchups, notre dame had to play uconn, pitt, syracuse, and 'nova twice....West Virginia DID NOT......

Notre Dame's RPI of 73 probably didn't help them out too much.

Iowa more wins vs the RPI top 50 than:
North Carolina
Wake Forest
Oklahoma St
Arizona
Kentucky
Gonzaga
Boston College
Uconn
Villanova
Syracuse
Florida

Iowa beat Indiana by 15 in only matchup this season.
Iowa wins over Louisville, Texas, Texas Tech by 30, Air Force, Northern Iowa, Iowa St. Show me who Indiana beat this year
Indiana 3 wins vs. top 50 to Iowa's 7.
indiana RPI of 61, Iowa 42
Iowa only team to really play Illini tough - TWICE
Indiana one and done in conference tourney...
Iowa has 7 wins vs Tourney teams, Indiana has 3.
Not too difficult to figure that one out!!!!

Iowa LOSING record in conference, INDIANA 10-6.....

And technically Indiana has 4 wins vs top 50/tourn teams since it was deemed there loss to UNCC was IMPOSSIBLE and due to clock error

Iowa lost at home to Michigan, and Michigan State......Indiana won 3/4 games against these 2

Iowa lost to PURDUE, THE WORST TEAM IN THE BIG TEN......Indiana beat them twice

Indiana beat Wisconsin, Iowa did not...

Iowa won against Indiana in Iowa, Indiana did not have a fair shot at redemption.......

You can "select" stats to back up most any point .......Main one is, Indiana winning record in conference, 10-6, Iowa losing record in conference...

I wont argue with that alot Kermit, although i think Indiana's record should be considered at 16-12, since it was deemed their loss to UNCC, was a clock malfunction, and shouldnt have happened.....Their strength of schedule, and the way they played toward the end were what they had going for them...

What i am saying, is that Iowa should not have gotten in over them....If neither had made it, then i would understand..

BUCS- There is more to the season than the CONFERENCE..........plain and simple.

Nobody in their right mind believes Indiana is a better team than Iowa.

I have no problem with Iowa getting in as they beat some decent teams and finished strong but who did Northern Iowa beat ? Nobody... I mean nobody in the top 25 !!! This is getting more rediculous than the BCS ! What a farce ! Northern Iowa finished 3 rd. in the Missouri Valley with a measley 11-7 record ! Iowa beat them !

I hate Iowa and Indiana both, so I can arbitrate this argument. There is no question Iowa should be in over Indiana. No need to elaborate. Period.

Does it really matter anyway?

Who gives a flying f***

BUFFALO, NORTHERN IOWA, INDIANA, IOWA, DEPAUL, etc., etc., .....................none have a remote chance of winning it all.

The NCAA basketball tourney is a media hyped joke and a half ........and precisely one of the reasons I cant get to overly excited about the sport.

I've been impressed by Washington all year but UW as a NO. 1 seed? Ridiculous; the PAC-10 isn't that good.

Tell that to NC St '83, Villanova '85, and Kansas '88. Anyone can win, and that's why I love this sport.

Pac 10 has won quite a few Championships over the years although UCLA certainly pads their margin but both Arizona and UCLA have won recently so better not to overlook the PAC 10 imo
