January of last year, i bet $1500 on ND to beat #1 Syracuse. ND was home, getting like 8 points. I wanted to lay it all on the ML but didn't have the stones.

Oh my goodness...Do you know why I'm not going to go look at that.... I AM STILL PISSED OFF ABOUT IT.... LOL. It's true. That makes me so mad that Bob Stoops over amps his players EVERY time FOR EVERY BOWL game until they are some broken mechanical man.... I know that is what he does....or did. Over that long break he would coach and coach and coach and drill and drill and drill...they'd come in tighter than a new drum.

Ok...I'll go look at it.

$3850.....10/14/2001 Took the Dolphins over the Jets laying 4. Phins go into half up 17-0, Jets come out in second half and outscore Phins 21-0. Listened to the horror unfold on the radio, afterwards told wife that I was going to take dog for walk. Made it about 50 feet before I bent over and puked. Have not gone anywhere close to that amount since.

It was 4,4400 on the red river rivalry game this year. Won it but that profit has disappeared thanks to the men playing on sundays.

I've bet $500/hand on blackjack many times, and some times those w/ split & double downs turned into a $1500 bet.

I only did this in +EV situations, mostly when I was playing for online bonuses and had large wagering play-through requirements...

That was a terrible loss for me....I lost over a $1,000 on that one as I recall and I think it was closer to $2,000. My earlier post was somewhat incorrect if my memory serves and also...the very sick feeling I still get from remembering that one. It was a serious play for me.

I was so elated at the nice win and then it all turned so sour, so very quickly! I was so sick that I went and sat in the car in the garage and listened to the last two minutes on the radio (WESTWOOD ONE, LOL "You are listening to Westwood One") because the television spectacle was too intense for me. I was more able to cope with the loss in audio rather than audio/visual!!

Wow...that was one sick evening. I laid out in the lawn and looked at the stars after that loss. Just laid out flat on my back in the cold, dewey grass looking at the stars wondering why God was against me.

Now...here is the thing...I've learned!! There are no sure winners and no sure win until the final bell rings. Further, I never wager more than I'm comfortable losing on any one game and in any day. Those were costly lessons...coooooostly. But! I'm making them pay me back now and I'm doing very well.

Make your costly lessons pay you back with interest.

Biggest single bet probably around $1500 bucks

But there are plenty of days in mlb when I have 3-5k riding on all my wagers combined for the day. Those are stressful evenings

I sometimes have 3k in play too on a Saturday with NBA, MLB, CFB, CBB, NHL, and soccer all going at the same time.
