got into this the other day, i personally dont think of either one of them as vices, but i would have to say poker more only because the time it takes outta the day is way bigger then the time it takes to handicap. IMO, a "vice" would be something like playing roulette if we are talking gambling.

well yeah it does take more time. Remember I was in a tournament online for 10 hours...def. doesn't take that long to conduct some bets. What's funny is that I've made money and I enjoy doing this yet a majority of my friends joke and say "wow you're addicted" yet I don't have that crave to gamble or play poker. I can go weeks without having to gamble, but as long as I'm making some cash and having fun why stop? I like to think of poker and gambling as entertainment and not a vice.

i sorta see it all as a big game that im trying to win at, not really entertainment persay. if i go to the roulette table and bet a few numbers and lose o well, im supposed to lose anyways, thats my attitude at least. i think poker could cut into your outside life in a big way if you let it.

I'd be bored of poker or roulette w/i an hour.

With the many sports available daily there is never enough time to look into
a dozen of the games satisfactorily, let alone all, even if one had 24 hours
in a day to do it.

These are not vices when you enjoy them like entertainment while investing
for a profit at the same time. I'd include casino games in that {e.g. an easy
$100 profit with a 100% bonus at Playnow.com}.
