There’s not a lot of optimism around Texas Tech football right now, but this game has the chance to set them back on track. There’s not much to learn from a victory over Kansas, but the Red Raiders simply need to win this game and reestablish some confidence. This matchup has the opportunity to let the Texas Tech offense grow more and for the defense to patch its holes. There’s a good argument for Kansas being the worst Power 5 team in football right now. While things have been rough for the Red Raiders against Texas and TCU, they aren’t there. Texas Tech is the better team and should win comfortably.

The Cougars opened the season with three consecutive wins over Pac-12 teams, made the top 10 and were getting discussed as a potential playoff team before slipping up at the midpoint of their regular season. They had four turnovers in a 26-17 loss last weekend to Boise State after only two total turnovers their first five games

Getting down on this now l don’t see the line going the other way but we shall see.
ISU opened season beating Northern Iowa 16-10 lost to Iowa at home. They beat up on UNLV and Kansas which bolsters their stats and lost to Baylor in Waco.
Meanwhile Mike Gundy miracle worker with injuries is undefeated and a bruising defense. All that being said it’s going to be tough ISU also has bruising defense and going to be fun to watch.

SMU Mustangs -13 1/2


Expect yards to come in bunches for SMU. Tanner Mordecai waited three years behind Kyler Murray,Jalen Hurts and Spencer Rattler before transferring to SMU. Quarterback Tanner Mordecai has led this passing unit to rank No. 1 in Pass Success. He’s been slinging it all over the field, throwing for 1,893 yards, 26 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Tulane ranks 115th in Def. Pass Success, which could be a problem against an SMU offense that tops the nation in that metric.The Tulane defensive line also struggles to get to the quarterback. Ranking 109th in Def. Pass Rush, SMU will look to exploit this all-around bad unit.

Director Rick Hart was asked by The Dallas Morning News if a team outside the Power Five conferences could legitimately contend for one of the four College Football Playoff spots.

Opposing quarterbacks have torched Kansas State where in back-to-back games, Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler and Iowa State's Brock Purdy both were 22 of 25, a completion rate of 88%. The Wildcats rank 102nd nationally in pass defense.KSt. experienced its share of defensive issues on the way to a 0-3 start in the Big 12.

Notably, running backs Jaylen Warren of Oklahoma State and Oklahoma's Kennedy Brooks were a handful, while Iowa State All-American Breece Hall gashed the Wildcats for 197 yards.Henry Colombi, who took over at quarterback for the Red Raiders when starter Tyler Shough broke his collarbone against Texas on Sept. 25, has had two 300-yard passing games since then.While Colombi has yet to approach the kind of accuracy Rattler and Purdy demonstrated, he is no slouch at 65.8%

West Virginia's offensive rushing attack is ranking 104th with just 89 yards per game. Jarrett Doege is at quarterback, and his ability to run the ball can be summed up in one statistic. Doege has 82 career rushes that have produced negative 208 yards.QB Max Duggan had career highs with 336 yards passing and four touchdowns against the Sooners while playing through a foot injury. The junior leading a unit that ranks third in the offensive-minded Big 12 at 460 yards per game and fourth in scoring (37.2 points).West Virginia has yet to see the top running backs in the Big 12. That changes this week against Zach Evans, who is fourth in the league at 117 yards per game. His current run of four consecutive 100-yard games is the first for TCU since 2002. And the Mountaineers aren’t forgetting about Kendre Miller, who leads the Frogs with six touchdowns. Three came against Texas Tech, the shortest from 33 yards.

Texas’ offense hasn’t been its shortcoming this season — at least through three quarters. The Longhorns have scored the second-most points per game in the Big 12, only trailing undefeated No. 4 Oklahoma’s average by a couple of decimal points. Sarkisian’s offense also ranks second in the Big 12 in terms of rushing yards per game, relying on stellar performances from Heisman hopeful Bijan Robinson.Despite some bad interceptions, Thompson has thrown for the most touchdowns of any Big 12 quarterback, and he’s only started five of seven games. He also has the highest passer rating by a solid marginClearly the offensive line is doing a great job of run blocking because Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon has also been a part of the Bears’ success running the football, finding the end zone six times, the most rushing touchdowns for any Big 12 quarterback. Bohanon has gotten it done through the air too, throwing for 1,563 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season. Having started seven games this season, Bohanon has only thrown one interception, while every other Big 12 starting quarterback has thrown four or more.Not only can Baylor run block, but they can pass block as well as any team in the Big 12. Bohanon has only been sacked five times in seven games, while every other Big 12 quarterback has been sacked eight or more times. Bohanon’s favorite target, Tyquan Thornton, leads the Big 12 in receiving yards and has caught five touchdowns.
With Smith, Ebner, Bohanon and Thornton all behind a dominant offensive line, Baylor has been a top-ranked offense in the Big 12, averaging the most total yards per game and most rushing yards per game. When you factor in Texas’ problems with stopping the run this season, Smith and Ebner should have a field day on Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.VA. West Virginia has yet to figure out a way to slow down Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy. The senior will get the chance to beat the Mountaineers for the fourth straight season Saturday

Purdy is second in the Bowl Subdivision with a 75% completion rate. He’s thrown for seven touchdowns against the Mountaineers in his career with two interceptions. Kansas State Wildcats -3 1/2. They started the season with three straight wins, drubbing Stanford along the way, and broke into the Top 25 before they proceeded to lose three straight games. And while the Wildcats mounted a late comeback against Oklahoma State and and gave Oklahoma all it could handle, the lowlight probably came in a noncompetitive loss to Iowa State. Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson is coming off his best game since hurting his knee against Southern Illinois in early September. He was 24 of 30 for 296 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions against the Red Raiders. TCU ranks ninth in the Big 12 against the run, giving up 212.7 yards a game on the ground. TCU had been injury riddled all season long have to wonder about guy’s playing with aches and pains and are 1-3 in conference play.​

Kansas State Wildcats -24. Not much of a write up needed here just fading Kansas every week. They are bad l remember one year books quit making lines on l think it was Temple as being non competitive might see that with Kansas. Probably not going to bother with write ups today in Vegas bouncing off the walls. A sports book doesn’t have the comforts of home.​
