Big vote today in Florida for gambling expansion

isn't that true? They mentioned a few days ago that they agreed to expand the Indian casinos (I assume this is just allowing what they already have done). Are they going to do what is needed and allow other casinos?? They need to do it for the health of our economy. I just don't know if the moral majority will allow it...They could put 2 casinos in Pensacola and basically eliminate Biloxi. MGM already has a huge chunk of land right on the beach for the day it gets passed. Anybody have some more info???@)

As of right now, Florida is a favorite to have the buy-in cap raised from $100 in NL games to $1000 or unlimited and also have the maximum tourney buyins raised from 1000 to 10,000.

Also, parimutual tracks will be allowed to operate 18 hours during the week and 24 hours on the weekends.

I was questioning the table games as well. I want them to pass other casinos to open outside of the indian thieves. I don't see myself ever walking into a poker room and putting $1000 on the table no matter what my economic circumstances are. But I could and do walk into a casino with a G to play 3 card poker and blackjack..

Your games in Florida have a huge -EV factor longterm...........whereas poker in the state of Florida is a HUGE +EV


I highly suggest you re-think your position.

I understand your point and agree. I might lose a G playing poker (never) but I would never walk in and plop that down. That is just me so the raising cap issue is not a big deal for me. I hope they would still keep some tables with the $100 buy in.

They will.........and you will have a great shot at getting the fish with large stacks tranferring their stacks to you.

Regarding the parimutual sites, it comes down to a voter referendum in each particular county... Case in point, Broward was first to vote it in and of all their sites (Gulfstream, Mardi-Gras, Pompano Park and Dania Jai-alai) none are making any significant profits with their slots.. Only Mardi-Gras is making a slight profit and Dania hasn't even expanded to slots since the vote.. Seminole Hard Rock is raking in the only real profits because they now have vegas slots, blackjack, etc... Miami-Dade voted their referendum last year and none of their parimutual sites are even planning slots yet after seeing Broward bleed money...

However, we still need the Seminole Compact to be ratified before the limits can be raised........this could be weeks, months, or even YEARS!!

Lets hope it is done at least by the end of the year!!!
