Link - Looks like ESPN will ink the second half for 190 million per year. With FOX's 250 million that should put each school at about 30 million without adding in the BTN money. Enough to keep up with the Joneses.

cool. dont understand how espn (which now should just be an acronym for losing money) keep plopping down these contracts

should be more than $30m btw. shitty little Purdue got $32M last year

ESPN will shell out $1.14 billion over six years for the second half of the Big Ten's media rights package, meaning the conference's average media rights payout will almost triple.

Yeah, It will be more, once all the tiers and bowl money gets added in. 40 million isn't stretching it too far, I don't think. I've seen all kinds of projections that go from 40 to almost 60 million in about 2 years time.

I saw one estimate that media rights alone could provide mid $40 million per school in 2017-18. The sad part about this is when the small Big 10 athletic programs start beating OU in facilities and coaches salaries. That's when our athletic programs will start to fall off. Boren just don't get it yet that it's all about the money...

it's going down the inevitable path of 16-team power super-conferences....just a matter of time.

SEC loved the new money generated by opening up the states of Missouri and Texas so expect them to expand their footprint with North Carolina team and one other new state (VA or OK)
