r5: starry pursuit. hard to argue with this gal's record with her lone dud coming in her first route race against some nice fillies. she's stuck on the rail, but that may turn out to be advantageous if she doesn't break as sharply as the other speeds to her outside.

r6: apoplectic. dollase barn cold as ice, but this gelding is one of those cal breds who has a lot of talent but has never really put it together for zucker. barn change, scenery change and i think she'll be finishing nicely at a big number.

now that is a way to start the pick-6. unfortunately, i fancy a robbie albarado horse in the kilrose mile, wise river. not so wise, i think.

anyway, moving on to

r7: small exacta box- stardom bound / burg berg. 'bound towers over these on class, but she hasn't exactly been torching the track the past few months and her figs better progress or she's at risk of flaming out against the better 3 year old fillies. 'berg just keep on trucking and should get a good trip in here.

r9: global hunter. i was sad to see mast track scratched, but perhaps we'll get an even better spot for him soon. i'm loathe to back an avila horse, particularly in a grade 1, but this jade hunter horse looks to be rounding into a a big one off a very good second place finish behind big cap contender matto mondo. i imagine we'll see valdivia do one of his "patented" (should be outlawed) 7 wide move on the far turn.

hmn. not sure how ventura lost that last race...

r10: magnum. this race is begging to be won by an off the pace runner, and i really really really want to back blue exit. however, he's getting bet down into completely unplayable territory at 6/1 and his pilot has now proven to me twice he's a completely incompetent jockey. albarado is a total play against in my book and how he got mineshaft to run for him i'll never know. this leaves me with court vision, stream cat or magnum.

magnum likes this track, got a nice win tracking last time out and has the back class to win here. i think we're catching this guy at the top of his form cycle, so i'm going to play him as long as he stays north of 10-1.

r10: el grego. loved the way this guy won last time and though he switches to the weeds, i think we'll see another otp effort. he's parked on the outside, but has got enough speed to get good position and he could get lost in the wagering a bit.
