Whisperz, I know it's already been said quite a few times, but thanks for jumping in and working with BB and posting for him. As you can see, quite a few really like to see/hear what he has to say.

Tell him we really appreciate him still being a part of this forum and hopefully he will rejoin us soon.

I'm pissed that I missed the Pitt over post. Good luck with that.

just curious. How do you guys even know that big bookie is even really a bookie? Because he told you so on the internet. Have any of you met the guy. Reason i ask is because i dont know too many bookies that would be hanging out on messageboards posting plays.

good luck with the plays tonight:103631605

Having a verrry close friend in "the business" for approx 5 yrs (no longer tho and never again... loose lips sunk da ship....) I can share a few things...

1) people think a book wants all the action 50/50 so he can make $$ off the juice...wrong... that is not where the house makes their big money.. theyre willing to put the line up... track where the big $ is on gms.. win some, lose some until the big games come in their way

Note: most of these players were just normal guys... but some were devout 'cappers... studied stats, etc... or paid for service plays...

2) fball was by far the biggest as far as volume of players, # of plays made by those players compared to bsktball and baseball, and the amt of money won by the house (which had to do w/how many players and bets we took)

3) They used with the "real line"... based on the largest off-shore books and paid for a service in which we got line moves instantly... if there was a choice of 2 lines... they used the one that a) lined up w/their opinion or USUALLY b) if no opinion, then where most the "smart money" was...
you learn quickly which players know the line moves.. and are on the "sharp side"... (which doesnt always win either btw...)

4) Kept track of the players that lost consistently... these are players that did not know each other existed.. but when they all lined up on one side... the other side came in like clockwork...

4) When we had a "significant position" on a certain # of gms...
players might go 50/50 ojn these big $$ games...but as season progressed the house usually won about 60%-70% of them... sometimes more...

Whether that was due to a fumble, interception, long td, blocked fg, hits the upright... Whatever... Major Upset... WHATEVER!

Id guess the house had a losing week or broke even about 3 times in 5 yrs during fball season... the rest were winning wks...
Big money gms went the house's way more often than not.... esp late in the season.... from Thanksgiving on... cant say why really... its just the way it happened... and...
WHEN A BIG FAV GOES DOWN, IT ALSO KNOCKS OUT TEASERS, PARLAYS (ALONG w/HAVING 75% OF THE STRAIGHT PLAY ACTION ON THE LOSING SIDE)
THAT'S where the house makes the big money for the wk... those gms that knock out everything... 14 pt favs losing outright... huge!

Is it the natural flow of human nature? great one wk, so-so the next? The balance of talent so close? Home Team support that raises the quality of their play? Maybe a little of all that.... but...

TRUST ME... IF IT WAS ENTIRELY PREDICTABLE, WE'D HAVE FIGURED IT OUT... CUZ WE TRIED
We talked... analyzed it... tracked things... finally gave up...
it just works out that way in the long run... anything can happen on one wknd, one month even... but it ended up going the way ive described

When the Public all lined up... we won more often than not.. believe it.
And it works like that in ncaa fb... nfl... ncaa hoops in particular
(more so than nba...)

Baseball... there were some players that won fairly consistently... not many of them... and not huge... not compared to what they lost in fball... but guys like that.. look for their plays each day and maybe make a little $$ off those plays...

ok... thats the history lesson for the day...

Best of Luck to us ALL!! :toast:
