it's not about sharps, or the fact that 66% of the bets are on the Panthers
it's not about the NFL wanting Manning (or Cam) to win
it's not about something that happened in past Super Bowls
it's about the Panthers being a better team, it's not rocket science
they rolled both post season opponents, both teams arguably better (healthier) than what the Broncos have played, while the Broncos squeaked by two one dimensional teams and one could suggest they were a tad bit fortuitous to get by the Steelers. Stated differently, one team looked invincible while another did not
the difference between the Panthers and the Patriots?
1) Cam's mobility neutralizes Denver's D
2) Panthers running game
Panthers will move the ball better, if only because of Cam
Panthers D will give handicapped Broncos offense fits
I agree with you Willie… I'm a big patriots fan and I expected them to struggle early in the season. With a undrafted rookie at center, and 2 rookie guards starting the season in front of Brady I thought they would have problems from game one. The quick passing was enough to nullify the weaknesses on the offensive line early in the season. Brady was getting rid of the ball in less than 2 seconds. With the injuries came the problems, plus they lost Solder for the season who was there only legitimate tackle. Denver has a solid defense, there's no doubt about that, but they looked world-class against a very bad patriot offensive line. Plus we all know how immobile Brady is. Totally different case today I believe with Carolina and Cam Newton. I see a lot of good handicappers on Denver, but I believe Carolina has what it takes to exploit those edge rushers on the Broncos.
