OU over Wash. St. in 2003

Texas over Mich in 2005

Now I see why they don't want Big 12 teams in the Rose Bowl.

It doesn't mean squat about the conference. The Big 12 overall has been hit and miss in the bowl season. Okie State and Texas A&M were pitiful and listless against a below average Ohio State team under investigation and a Tennessee team with a QB most SEC people will tell you is laughable.

Big 10 has been the strongest conference in the bowl year. No one has been close. SEC and PAC-10 I am really dissapointed in so far (the PAC-10 mostly because of Cal who were horrific).

Actually the Big 12 is 2-1 in the Rose Bowl.

Nebraska lost the national championship game there a few years back.

The Big 10 gets the trophy this year. The 2 teams that performed the best for them in the bowls also have the two best coaches. I think the Ohio St. and Iowa bowl wins will be a preview of who will dominate that conference next year. The ACC will get a lot of press next year for becoming an official 12 team league. But it will probably be the same big 3 in the end with Fla.St.,Va.Tech and Miami. The SEC was down a bit this year. But i expect that conference to be real strong next year. Especially with Tennessee and Florida, who is returning a good part of their team. And getting an outstanding head coach. It wouldn't surprise me if Meyer won the SEC in his first year. I can't tell you how much I was impressed with Utah last night. They were a very well coached team. The Pac 10 I believe is batting .500 this bowl season. Cal was a big disappointment, but i expect them to be back next year. And USC is still young and loaded. OU is a much more veteran team. I expect the Big 12 to be a little down. Especially on OU's part. Texas has a lot of players returning, but until they get an offensive corrdinator and a QB who can pass they'll probably remain the same old Texas. They do have the guns to win the Big 12. But they'll have to contend with an A&M team who also return a good part of their team and plays Texas at home. And IMO Fran's a better coach. If I had to pick the 2 best conferences next year I would probably have to go with somebody coming out of the Big 10 and a team from the SEC.

The Big-12 is 1-2 ATS in the Rose Bowl not counting Nebraska's 1941 loss.

(It was officially a push but I middled the game. Unfortunately both books have had cash flow problems and still haven't settled up.)

Of course West Coast teams (USC, Washington, and Santa Clara) are 3-0 SU and ATS in the Orange bowl. This stat is about as relevant as all Democratic candidates (pre-Kerry) winning Tuesday following a Sunday GB Packer win.

LOL! .. People act like it's a whole conference playing against another when their teams meet in big bowls. They're all individual teams playing in different years against different teams. It's no reflection at all on each conference who wins or loses games in bowls. Although people would like to think so. Most years the Pac 10 beats up on the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl. It doesn't make me think any less of the Big 10. Between the two conferences the Big 10 is probably stronger overall year in and year out. All you have to do is look at the national championships that conference has won compared to the Pac 10. ATS stats and bowl wins mean absolutely nothing to me. It's a joke...period :nono5:
