they already signed on for a conf champ game starting in 2017 which is why everyone assume there would be a move to 12 or 14 teams and then a North/South division structure with the winners of each meeting in the title game. Now i guess they will just have a rematch of #1 vs #2 in a single table format.I'm guessing they figure since there's not a team in the Big 12 that is really that close to being playoff caliber, then what's the point of a conference championship game? I don't see Baylor coming back any time soon, TCU can barely beat Kansas, Texas is not likely to figure things out under Strong while Oklahoma has lost a step or two as well. Why divvy up the pie even further and create more competition in the fertile Houston recruiting grounds by giving more legitimacy to UH?

yesterday's decision reminds me of the refusal by the Big East commissioner to think about the future. The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality has crushed many organizations and will be the SWC's downfall.
