Michigan has lost WR Tarik Black for 7-8 weeks minimum. Tough break. I think that the ACC's Clemson, Big 12's Oklahoma. Pac 12's Washington and the SEC's Alabama and Georgia can defeat anything the Big 10 has to offer.

I only wish that Clemson, Oklahoma, Washington, Bama and UGA played a schedule like Michigan has to play. You can throw Miami in there too. Personally I think its a joke.

Here's how many top 15 teams each of those teams play this year.
Oklahoma- 0
Clemson- 0
Washington- 2
Alabama- 1
UGA- 1
coincidently 3 of those 4 games are against the same team. Auburn.

Michigan- 5

Michigan plays more top 15 teams then the #1, #2, #3, #6, and #7 teams combined. #4 and #5 are also big ten teams.

That is because Michigan plays a bunch of overrated Big 10 teams.

That went 7-1 in bowl games last year, all games against Power 5 opponents, 3-0 against PAC-12 the conference of champions

LOL. Actually i think it was 4-0 vs. the pac 12. And the one loss was Michigan who had no business losing that game. Completely outplayed S. Car with some starters missing and somehow lost the game

Anyway, my point of the post was that its fucking bullshit that some of these elite teams play such pussy schedules. If Michigan was to go 11-2 (which i don't think happens) and wins the big ten they would have 6 wins vs top 15-20 teams. A schedule that would be far superior to any team in the country yet they would probably be left out of the playoff cause no chance some of those other teams don't go undefeated or at most 1 loss with those cheese dick schedules. It's about time that the committee starts rewarding teams for having a tougher schedule.

Penn State's OLB Manny Bowen has left the team. IMO, the Lions are thin at linebacker. Any more loses in the linebacker corp could be trouble.

Michigan has lost promising wide receiver Tarik Black. For his short career he has 11 catches for 149 yards, yet the ND/UM line moved 3 points on this lose.

How about the Thursday games. I actually have little input --- sorry for that. But I do like G. Money's bets of Minny -20.5 and NW over 52.5 (now 51).

Any others have thoughts on these two games?

Should have grabbed them when I asked for input. Now it's Minny -21 and NW is back to 52.5.

I tried to reply last night and this morning but my internet provider SUCKS. No internet last night and dropping in/out this morning!

I'm no expert by any means but I do follow the Big10.
Everything points to Minny rolling against NMST and I don't like it. Too many times have seen teams play terrible in first game and then play decent the next game. And how over confident are the Gopher players after seeing NMST offense spit and sputter? I'm staying away from this one.

I do have NW +2.5. If Thorson is not the starter I will counter with an Under bet. NW is really a defensive minded team. Most of their D returns. They are on an eight game win streak to close out last season and the average opponent score for those eight is under 15 points (not including MSU OT scoring).
I would lean Under without Thorson.

Thanks for all that info Vegas... now I feel fortunate your internet was screwed-up and I had to wait. Hope all continues to be ok with your access.

Just because I lean that way doesn't mean it ain't going to happen. But that Gopher game I'm staying away from. Been wrong before.

I have a two year internet plan and I'm getting screwed. Do have a Verizon pay as you go modem as a backup but my wife is out of town and she has it. Could try and post from my phone but I hate that shit.

Well Maddog, looks like both your leans will hit. Thorson started and now at the half looks good for my NW +2.5. Got another half to play.

gabewins, here are my top 5;

1. Ohio State
2. Wisconsin
3. Michigan
4. Michigan State
5. Penn State
Wisconsin should win the West division. Ohio State has the easiest schedule of the East leaders. Michigan has the toughest schedule, the ND game could confirm they are #3 or it show they still don't have an O-line. Michigan State sneaky good but thin at key positions, QB and RB. Penn St lost so many defensive players and key offensive contributors I have them at #5.

No problem... I didn't look at how long you have had an account and how many posts you have made... my error. I ended up checking out MickyLo and Gekko, both very reliable cappers with a long history, so I got my two wins. If I had bet Minny and NW, I would have won but I would not have bet Tulane and Northwestern. So it worked out for me.

I usually come into TR's threads for info from guys that have earned their stripes. Not trying to be mean but I think you need to get a little experience and build a little bit of a history discussing plays, before dispensing more advise. But that just my humble opinion.

You did win your NW bet.. so you may in fact have a lot on knowledge about the Big-10. I just think I will listen to others for a while.

Good luck to you in the future.

Minnesota's QB got a dinged up shoulder in the 4th quarter when the game was no longer in doubt. He continued to play and took another shot to the shoulder that clearly bothered him. Worth watching as Minnesota moves into week 2.
