Hammy, I hate to keep bringin up bad situations, but we have another one brewing.

BigRagu picked the Cubs, and you warned him that it is already rained out. That said, he is under no obligation to stay on the Forum 24/7 like..well, you and I have the habit of doing.

That said, how will his play be graded if he logs off, goes out to eat, and doesn't return until tomorrow morning?

Just to clarify, Pirate game wasn't officially postponed until 5:30 EST.

Truth is, they usually dont postpone games that early, but as I was posting in the Baseball forum all afternoon, We got a heavy downpour here and they expect more.

I've sat in the PNC lots for hours waiting for them to call games. This early PPD is rare.

Seriously though I'll stick with 'em. I know if I was allowed to switch, the Red Sox would win and my new pick would lose.

COME ON KARMA!

Good luck all

Not sure who to believe, you or Yahoo Sports. Where are you getting your information?

Taken in part from Yahoo Sports:

Scheduled start 7:00 EST

Called 90 minutes before start.

Lets do the math: 7:00 minus 1 1/2 hours = 5:30EST

Dont know where the problem is???

Now I KNOW that at least a few of tonight's survivors will be watching the weather channel tomorrow morning handicapping the weather.

My bad on the 90 minute calculation

There is room to suspect that some participant(s) are playing games that have a high likelihood of being rained out...maybe that is fair play, I dunno.

Well if someone had picked that game at around noon knowing it would rain they would get a free ride.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as he picked Kerry Wood.

Had he made a play on Tampas worst pitcher in a Tampa Detroit matchup it would have been MUCH more suspect.

Hammy, I wouldn't have done anything differently if it was you instead of him. Like I said, posted the PPD as soon as I knew it was official so no one would try to fly under the PPD radar for an easy beat.

I posted rain warnings for the Pirate game early this afternoon in the baseball forum.
Reason I do, cuz if you are like me and play baseball parlays for value, you get po'ed when you have part of a 3 or 4 teamer cancelled.

And, if I was still in the running, you can beat your *ss I would have picked the Cubs today.

Particularly if there is a strong likelihood that the game will rain out.

You are right on. The fact that Kerry Wood is pitching against a team that is 6-16 at home would have never entered my mind.

Even would have my rain dance music playing and head dress on.

If the rules say you can bet a rained out game then go ahead and bet it. I would prefer to win by picking a winner every day but that's just my choice.

Wow.. alot of interesting Chit happening! First let me clarify something.. I played the CUBS today much for the same reason as everyone takes their plays... STRONG PITCHER, secondly after reading last nite about not waiting to put plays in at the last minute (site problems, you guys called it?) I put my play in a lot earlier than I would care for. Now I should be punished for that? Yeah sure!

As well, as great as the site is, I do have a job, girlfriend and life outside of sports and with no disrespect for other can't be around or on all day.

No I am not a weatherman (funny chit RES) and I don't play games anticipating rainouts, I liked Chicago and Wood and will take them tomorrow, weather pending of course..

I may be new to this forum but those here that do know me also know that I am above things like the accusations that are directed towards me.

Hopefully that explains where I am coming from, if not, please feel free to ask me anything you'd like (related to this topic of course)

Regards,

Ragu
