Here is what happened to me during chat with these cons today: This just happened to me tonight at Bookmaker it is a scam! Priscilla: Welcome to our Live Chat Department. My name is Priscilla. How may I be of assistance?
Me: deposited $1500 tonight and can't figure out how to claim free 15% play
Priscilla: Hello.
Priscilla: Thank you! I appreciate it…
Priscilla: That promotion has a 4x rollover, do you agree with that?
Me: Yes. Does that mean I bet $6000 before I get it?
Priscilla: Are you able to hold while I check on that for you?
Me Ya
Priscilla: Thank you very much for waiting!
Priscilla: My apologies... as per a management decision, your account is not entitle for bonuses.
Me: Why...rip off and misleading
Priscilla: My apologies... actually, you have never received a bonus since you have the account.
Me: this is my first deposit ever
Me: and re-ups get a 10% deposit...why again the games
Priscilla: My apologies... it is a management decision.
Me: what? How can you just say no and advertise it. It is a lie. I would like an explanation.
Priscilla: Sir... as you can see in our page: Bookmaker reserves the right to modify or terminate this promotion at any time without prior notice.

Bonuses are over-rated especially since most don't even do true bonuses anymore (like cash bonuses) and instead do Freeplay with a rollover......I believe GTBETS is only one with a True Cash Bonus that is respectable according to their SBR Rating, but then there is a rollover as well.......All that being said , I wouldn't be worried about bonuses or withdrawal fees anywhere if you are playing with enough anyway.

As far as Bookmaker they are a professional book and one of the best...

I've gotten that run around from BM before. The whole "Management decision" thing with no explanation.

Great book otherwise though...

Yeah, I was going to say the same about GT bets if you hadn't, and their rollover isn't crazy like betonline. I also love the way GTbets gives me free birthday money and free random bets through the year for no reason.

why is that a scam? Ya you might not like being able to get a bonus but that doesn't mean its a scam. Every business has a right to make its own rules especially when it comes to things like bonuses and contests. About 10% of players never take bonuses even if offered to them.

Just another perfect example of how you can never please everyone no matter what you do.

All the offshore books are crooked and make rules to suit themselves. Of course that will happen given the lack of regulation and the shady characters involved. Sure some scam more by simply not paying, but its still well within the definition of scam to offer a bonus and then retract based on some undisclosed reason.

so you don't think a valid explanation is warranted after a guy deposits $1500 based off a promotion they are offering?

if you go into best buy and purchase a $1000 TV that has a $150 mail-in rebate and they decide not to honor the $150 rebate due to "management decision" you believe it's the manufacturers "right to make its own rules"? wow

Having worked for them for quite some time, I am well equipped to tell you first hand. All books are not crooked. Are there books that are crooked? Hell ya! Like any business, you have your good and bad.

Its easy to judge a business solely on one live chat copy and paste. To me the operator handled it well. I have given out thousands of bonuses to thousands of players over the years and very few are not offered any. You and I do not know the reason for the bonus not being offered to this guy. There could be several reasons why but I would only be speculating. I am sure the player knows why. BM pays all their players all the time. To me that's the best bonus you can get.

Lack of regulation has nothing to do with it. I have bet online with at least a dozen books and have never had such a problem that I need to post a thread claiming someone is a scam because they aren't offering me a bonus. WTF? Right there is cause for concern to an open-minder individual that something isn't on the up and up.

apples and oranges. We dont know why it wasn't offered. It's not your God given right to receive a bonus. I have had guys that are way way up on a book where they weren't allowed a bonus and I told them this and made notes in their account. A couple minutes later, they call again hoping to get a different person on the line and they ask for the bonus again. Then when they were told the same thing I told them, they would call again or go on live chat asking again. If all failed, they would create a new account with a fake name in order to get it. I haven't even scratched the surface of the things I have seen. I can go one for days about this subject. All I can say is have an open mind and don't immediately assume the book is doing something unethical.

As far as your TV example. I hear what you are saying but you aren't able to potentially win thousands of dollars on your $1000 TV purchase. If they rebate doesn't say limit one person or household or what have you, then you should be able to buy as many as you wish.

It is if it was offered upon deposit. Which is what the OP is alleging. Now I'm sure there is tons of bonus abuse but if we accept the OP's version of the story and the book did not give a reason, then I would certainly consider that the OP has been swindled.

There is no "good and bad" in the offshore sportsbook world. Unless you are a cloud based service provider like the PPH shops that earn a tech fee, the entire premise of any operation is to game your players. Try winning... Even the most "reputable" books will cut you off. Its true that the good ones will still pay you but still cut you off nevertheless. The business model is predicated on attracting stupid recreational gamblers and stacking the deck against them. This is why it attracts so many career criminals.

how do you know he wasn't given a reason? Every player at BM is offered a bonus unless there is a reason already given to the player as to why he isn't eligible for one. There is more to the story than you are being shown on that particular live chat.

If you don't believe me, open an account as see for yourself. I have opened up many accounts there and added bonuses on nearly every redeposit to players if they chose to take one. They are a great book. No reason any sports bettor shouldn't be play there imo. An educated guess is that 99% of all BM players are able to receive a bonus on every deposit.

its a matter of opinion I supposed. I am not here to convince you either way. I can only tell you what I know from over 12 years of working behind the scene. When I first started in the books many years ago, I would have said the same thing .. the offshore books are scumbags. I saw first hand of what they did and I literally had to take a shower sometimes after I got home. I quit not long after. But if we all simply judge one book as the industry norm then that just isn't the case.

There are better books and there are bad ones. Every type of business you can same the same. If you bought a new cell phone and you hated it because of whatever reason, doesn't mean that all cell phones made my all companies suck. Did you ever get your car fixed and after realized that you were ripped off? Does that mean all mechanics are scam artists?

After my initial sportsbook experience, I was for good reason, very skeptical to work for another one. Then I was offered a job at mybookie.com/grandcentral sports. Betcom.com who later merged into nine.com and then eventually were bought out by Vip.com. They were 180 degrees different. They simply paid their players when they won and of course kept their money when they lost. Unfortunately they stopped taking new US players a few years ago and eventually went out of business. But unlike other books that closed the doors, they gave a few months notice to player and paid them all out if they have any outstanding balance. Some players would only play football and leave their money in their accounts in the off season. Many books would say fuck you and close their doors. Even some of my player's that played at Justbet that also played at nine.com and missed the deadline to get the money back after the closed contacted me to see if there was anything I could do. I contacted the former owners on nine/vip and they took care of the customer after the fact. They didn't have to but they did. obviously those clients of mine will play anywhere I recommend and do so to this day.

lastly, recreational better are what most books look for and those players usually are always offered bonuses. If you are sharp or bet steam you could have your limits lowered or not offered bonuses. Nothing illegal about that. Just like when Ben Affleck (or anyone else counting cards) was kicked out of casinos in Vegas for counting cards. He wasn't doing anything illegal. They just don't want card counters playing in their casinos. They also want recreational black jack players. Same with recreational sports books.

Bottom line, don't believe everything you read on the internet. There are usually 2 sides to the story.

I apologize for my many grammar errors. I just noticed them but it was too late to correct them.

how do books know you are recreational/ loser. I got a $100 unsolicited fp from 1vice. Do other books sell the betting history of players to other books. Scott should be able to answer this one

Recreation books generally consider recreational bettors are those that give "well-rounded action". I can't speak on behalf of all book of course but I am pretty sure most if not all would tell you the same. It doesn't have anything to do with you being a 'loser' lol. I know many people think that's the case. Let's be real here, if you never won then there would likely be few bettors left. Guys do win all the time. They have no problem with players winning but don't want too many "card counters" as I mentioned in the second to last paragraph in post #14. If you are betting steam exclusively then you are likely non recreational. If you are picking off lines only, then you are non recreational.

Best thing to ask your book as to their policy if you are playing or considering playing at a recreational book. Maybe there has been one, but I cant think of one (where I can personally verify) instance over the years when I heard of a player being kicked out of a book, or being denied bonuses or having their limits reduced reduced if they met the criteria of a recreational bettor.

How do they know? They look at the types of bets you make over a certain period. Usually a week or so is all they need. Remember also, people make mistakes sometimes. I have had a handful of players swear that we were wrong and they were definitely not wise-guys and when I brought their case to the risk manager who determines there things, they reversed the non-recreational designation for that player.

I've cashed, but my question is, how did 1vice target me along with others to be part of this fp promo?

Not sure stale. Maybe your name has gotten around from other books you play(ed) at and/or maybe you have an agent that you deal with that has taken care of you at more than one book? I am not sure if you asked 1vice if they even know but that could be an option if you really want to know. I get several names come across my desk every month of names of players and many of those are already clients of mine or already have an account at numerous places.

Off topic but you are just sugar coating it. Being "recreational" and being a "loser" goes hand in hand. Of course anybody can win on any given day but no "recreational" bettor will win in the long run. So yes books want losing players. Thats why it is an unsustainable model long term as the moment it is legalized the p2p exchanges will take over. Those are the only entities that do not care what side you are on and let you win. Any regular book, offshore or not, is just a glorified clip joint.
