Nice of them to be straightforward with the shareholders. Why couldn't they have been that way with ntheir customers?! Would have engendered a lot more confidence in them if they had said something on their web site or e-mailed their customers a simillar staement of intent. Make sit look like they are trying to hide something.

i just had a chat with a live operator from wwts and this is what she said...

"Betcorp is aware of the bill that passed through the senate. This bill will limit the type of deposit/withdrawal methods that we presently offer;
we suggest that our customers open up a Neteller account if you don’t have one already.

We are also in the process of taking advice on analyzing the bill and its effect. Betcorp will continue to operate in strict compliance with the laws of the jurisdiction of which it operates. "

looks like big news on wwwts

has anyone read this.I hate posting from another forum but this is pretty big. betwwts was one of the best out there.

important announcement concerning betWWTS.com

Very important announcement concerning betWWTS.com

Guys - BetCorp who owns betWWTS, betbet, BetHoldem, etc will be pulling out of the US Market.

I need to make a few things clear.

1. The betWWTS banners will remain up until the end of October because we are contractually obligated.

2. I have learned from some very trustworthy sources that betbet and WWTS will be sold off from BetCORP and will go private so they can remain, however that will not be the first thing that happens but will hopefully be the end result.

3. BetCORP is a public traded company and I have explained that all public companies have more risk and because of the board of directors have to look out for the stockholders - they all follow each other.

BetCORP has ZERO debt on the books, unlike Leisure, Party Gaming, etc. Your money will be safe and money in not an issue.

BetCORP will be pulling from the US presumably tomorrow (when Bush signs bill). They will not accept any more US depositers after this time. They may continue to accept active US bettors wagers but they will make another announcement on Monday, most likely

WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

The bottom line until they are sold off - WWTS will no longer be a viable option for US players

HAVE I PULLED MY MONEY?

I have left some money in there but I have requested to pull some of it?

ARE YOU SCREWED?

No, this is not BoS. This is a company that will do anything they can do remain a profitable company. They will pay off their debts

SHOULD I PULL MY MONEY?

This is a decision for you to make. I believe you will have time ragrdless if they make an announcement or not, however it's your money and I wanted to let you know ASAP in case you are not comfortable. You will not get screwed but I do not recommend leaving a lot of money in there. If anyone has any problems - email me and I will try and help.

WHAT ABOUT BETHOLDEM?

BetHoldem software provider has also pulled out. Until they find a new software provider I would classify them in the same boat.

The most important thing is - I wanted everyone to know.

I can promise you that NO reputable private held company is pulling out. Bet Jamaica, Greek, Cris, Pinny, etc all will be remaining as is.

That letter really wasnt a sky is falling type thing, just important for people who have accounts with betwwts to know this info.. betwwts was and is a great book and hopefully this all doesnt come to pass, but I lost alot of money with bos and I am not taking any chances even though betwwts is miles above bos.I had no problem today withdrawing my money and I loved my time at betwwts.great customer service
this may get sent to the dump for being a link to another forum but here is a link to a good thread and its important people with accounts read this and make their own decision.

I posted this earlier and had no problem with a withdrawal from betwwts.com so they are still solid at least today. They have always been a solid book,I just wanted to know if this is true or not.customer service said no,but i remember speaking to customer service to bos the day before the bottom falling out.I never thought much of bos but betwwts will be sorely missed.is this true about the us customers?

my second post is a letter from sportingbetplc, seems like the companies listed on the stock market are the one pulling out?

Important Announcement Concerning your PlayersOnly Account

With the recent passing of the law effecting financial institutions' transactions with online gaming companies, PlayersOnly's parent company, Sportingbet PLC, has decided to stop taking wagers from customers in the US effective immediately.

So does this mean you can't bet on sports or play Blackjack online at PlayersOnly anymore? HELL NO.

Sportingbet PLC has sold PlayersOnly to the existing management team and a group of investors who are continuing to run PlayersOnly just as always...Scratch that, perhaps even better than before.

It's biz as usual , so get your cash ready 'cause we're offering a SPECIAL 10% reload bonus on all depositing methods this weekend.

Your transactions remain secure, your details completely confidential and your account safe.

And to celebrate the change of ownership we're going to send you a special branded gift from our warehouse when you deposit. What's the catch? Deposit

Made a neteller withdrawal today from WWTS and it was very fast. Good sign. Still have a decent balance there and feel pretty good about it.

A Jones Observation

Never in the years that I've spent reading, posting etc. on this forum have I seen anything like the panic and chaos that seems to have pervaded the thought processes of so many posters here.

Good God gentlemen more than a few of you need to simply chill out.

Some of you seem to see fit to change your game plan and seek are sorts of contingencies because you've hit a bump in the road and maybe you feel you're down 3-0 in the middle of the first quarter in regard to this assinine and IMO unenforcible legislation.

Not to seem like a know it all. Actually I know very little. But this I do know. The solid books I play at are hangin' lines and paying you as they always have, if and when you beat them. They will continue to do so by whatever means necessary if and when you beat them. And trust me they will find a way for you to reload. And how to avoid reloading instead of pondering how you might be able to do so, if this happens or that happens, should be your primary goal.

My suggestion is simple. Too simple really. Gentlemen, put your time and energy into what you have some control over and put aside what you don't.

Stop yappin' and start cappin': concentrate on winning some some $$ today and building your bankroll. Tomorrow will take care of itself. You'll always have a way to get down if you still got the $$ to do so. That is about the only true lock I can think of.

Sincere Good Luck to all this weekend and have some fun playing the games.

This si bad news at WWTS. Their site isn't down for maintenance. They are stalling to figure out what their next move is. I made a withdrawl request and couple days ago, then got an e-mail from then asking for ID and the works. I sent it and got no response for 24 hours. Now, I was just told that everything is on hold at the moment until they come out with an announcement. She gave me a big speech on how a gambling law was passed today, as if I didn't know. I have a gut feeling that they are going to fuck the U.S. players out of $$$. I asked the operator if they will be paying out the balances. She said YES. Then I asked why I can't make a withdraw if they are going to pay out anyways. SHe then said once again that all U.S. accounts are frozen at this moment. This was at 12:30 EST.

On their web site: Notice saying they are freezing all accounts from US. Bastards should at least pay everybody. I guess this is their chance to screw everybody and blame it on US government. What a bargain dealing with a listed 'public' company!:finger:

Sounds good to me except if you have money at WWTS that not only can you not bet with but they will tell you when and if they pay you.

Okay, one more time-this is from last night:
Betcorp Ltd released a statement this evening acknowledging that if it was unable to move its US-focused brands under private ownership by Friday, services to the US market would close. Sources within the company tell SBR "It’s likely you will see the last two public giants privatize within the next 48 hours but of course, all [Betcorp sportsbook] players will receive their funds immediately if this is not achieved."

So in the mean time MY money is unavalable to me and it's up to them to tell me when if ever I can get it,if you don't want my business then send me MY money.

I doesn't get any easier than that
