I spoke to Betworks today to see what kind of bonuses they were offering. I was told they aren't allowed to give bonuses because they can't enforce rollover requirements by law.

Good for them. No bonus scams to worry about there.

I have deposited with them a bunch of $$ and am fine with no bonuses. I prefer to just play and cash out without worrying about rollovers and that sort of stuff.

For me safety comes before bonuses!!

Some people want a book where they don't want to f around with rollover requirements. If I send them 5 dimes and win a couple of dimes I can pull some cash out without all the usual bullshit that comes with bonuses. I don't really care much for them and actually feel like they are harmful to the industry. Later!

I think that's true MondoMan. They once gave out $50 but it is very confusing how they have to do it so they can stay within their regulations. You can't really "win" it but it got credited if you lost. I'm confusing myself just thinking about it.

Agree with Truth, I play here without worries and that in itself is worth a bonus. And though the limits aren't huge they do have numbers that are worth picking up here and there. One of my favorite books.....

Pat, I played on the $50 and cashed out a healthy sum with no problems.

The only downside about their no bonus rule is they wouldn't be getting players from Montreal.

I had a feeling too you would. You did ok on your first reply here by not mentioning (which was already a shock) but then you had to mention me. What about our deal? We said no more mentioning the other persons name again or it costs you 50.. So I will wait for my NETeller from you. Ok. I will let it go this time because you weren't too severe and you did put the little smile after that shot, so I will let it go, but from now on, it's costing you 50 for every shot you take at me,ok..

And by the way...of all the bonus guys, like Bettor1 (who is king) and BSkiller and all the gang, who are way severe than me at this,,why do you have to always mention me for? This proves right there that you are obsessed with me,right? But no, you had to mention me again..

Remember, 50 bucks Truth.. I will be keeping an eye on you,and you better not welch. or I'm coming to CR to kick your ass...

You may remember that some time ago Betworks had a free account offer in celebration of our new site going live.

Well, to celebrate the launch of our new sister site Ozlotteries.com we are giving away 1000 free $5 lottery accounts to Betworks Members, just in time for the upcoming $18 million Super Draw.

Simply go to http://www.ozlotteries.com and use the following promotional code when signing up:

OZLOTTERIES01

This is the Official Australian Lottery and the tickets you purchase are online versions of the ones you would buy in the store.

Like Betworks, Ozlotteries.com is a government licenced organisation.

Hmm, If they can't enforce rollever requirements they should run the promotion so you get a bonus after wagering a certain amount. For example...

For customers who deposit $1000 or more this weekend will receive a special $100 bonus if they wager 3x their deposit within the next three weeks. I can't see how that can be illegal. Then after the bonus is earned you can cash it out , no restrictions.

General:

For every bettor who has little regard for bonuses, there are 20 others who will not sign up at a book unless they offer a bonus.

That, my friend, is why the books offer them. It's a competitive market, and except for a very few books which stand out in another way (Pinnacle for price, Grande for limits, etc.), most books would not survive without offering bonuses because they wouldn't get enough customers.

For every book that fails because of excessive bonuses, there are probably another 10 that exist because they offer bonuses to attract customers.

If the books are prudent with their maximum bonus amounts and maintain stringent rollover requirements, these bonus offerings should be profitable for them.

One other thing, General. Believe it or not, but for a lot of people, service is NOT that big of a factor.

Why? Because with a lot of books (Pinnacle, Canbet, many many others), unless something wacky happens, there's just no need to talk to a human. Place your bets online, process payouts online (Neteller, etc.).

Actually, I guess having everything fully automated on the website is, in itself, good service.

For me, in most cases, I prefer not to talk to anyone at the book, mainly because the only time I usually need to talk to them is for a payout, and (even though I shouldn't) I feel kinda' bad telling them I'm withdrawing my money.

Good point Halifax. I have never experienced real bad CS either. I do not need it often.

Maybe the ratio of bonus abuse is not as bad as percieved in the forum.
