I hear a lot of people here say you can't win if you keep backing favorites. This is definitely true. For me however, betting underdogs does seem worthless when they are +160 or greater b/c a good portion of the time they lose. Why not take Favorites Runline stead? I see there are some people here like BigBookie who puts almost always underdogs and has shown profit.

Well does anyone have a record of playing favorites Runline -1.5? I know if you bet all the dogs blindly, you lose pretty much every year? I see how it does on wagerline but does anyone know how many units one is up or down if they just took favorites RL -1.5 every game? I am pretty sure it does bettter than underdogs?

I do this on occassion but its so hard...

its hard enough to win a baseball game by one run let alone 2

I only play RL and for me it has worked out so far. I remember seeing a stat where over 60% of RL favorites over -150 have covered since June, but I don't know where that thread is now.

ya but ur laying 66% juice at -150 and if its higher than that it makes it even worse...betting favs runline will KILL you in the longrun...just like most sports...its all about positions and making the right plays at the right time

Betting RL you eliminate the juice and get plus number. It's like betting an underdog.

I don't know how RL will kill you in the long run.

With runline you really have to pick your spots just like everything else, huge pitching mismatches or a very hot hitting vs sluping hitting...

if you've noticed..i go for runlines a lot. it is tough sometimes though. like today i have tampa bay runline and they are down 2 runs. so now i not only need them to come back but i need them to win by 2. i still stick by it though. if a teams wins they usually win by more than one.

Line was around -200 at gametime so if the Rays lose you eliminiated the juice. Easier to recover from a RL loss by 1 run than it is from these -170 and above lines.
