You can't go wrong with either one. The traffic is unbelieavable. They are working on the roads constantly, even late at night. They are great growing cities, with something to do at all times. great coarses at either place. Austine during the school year is a bustling dynamic place to be, and you can't beat the margarita's on the river walk in Sa.If it was me i think i would take San Antonio, at least it has more room to grow. Austin has pushed the bounderies about as far as it can go. Great places either way for a young person such as yourself.
Live in san Antonio right now. Been here about 10 yrs. If you're into Latin honeys, plenty here. Cost of living pretty decent. Haven't been hit as hard by the economy as other cities. Great weather. Austin nice too but its like mini Los Angeles with the traffic, however , the girls in Austin on 6th street are unbelievable. Great music scene as well. Either is good. San Antonio is good if you want to live in a big city with a small town feel. Plus the bad parts of the city aren't nearly as bad as some of the bad parts of other cities, except maybe the eastside, but you should never have a reason to be over there anyhow. The crime went up a little after the katrina victims came, but now that's really over on the east side. Beautiful hill country with lakes not too far away and plus, the coast is only a couple hours away. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.
Austin. Easily Austin. It's a young town, lots of daytime and nighttime activities, good job prospects and full of some of the best-looking women around (I put it right up there with San Diego in that respect).
It has a lot more in common with larger Mexican cities than with American ones. Lots of neck tattoos on guys, plucked eyebrows on women. There's some great food in San Antonio, but there's no way I'd ever want to live there.

If your fruity go to Austin and if your Mexican go to San Antonio if your not either go to Houston. If you want to live in a cool city with not alot of people try Beaumont. Remember in Austin it is against the law to wear shoes in public. The Austin Slogan is Keep Austin Weird.
What? Beaumont? A great city for used doublewide trailer salesmen, but otherwise only slightly ahead of El Paso in the contest to be known as the armpit of Texas. Odessa beats Beaumont, which says a lot.
I definitely couldn't recommend Houston either. It's too sprawling, too muggy and always has a weird smell in the air. If a person wanted to live in a big Texas city, I'd give the nod to Dallas. It's probably the hot fake blonde capital of the world, but there are a lot of downsides to living there, most notably the sprawl and the traffic. I'd live there if I had to, but it comes in well behind Austin.
One thing that would be wise before anyone moves to Texas: make a visit in the heat of summer before deciding on making the move. Even though we talk about how hot it gets, a lot of new residents don't quite believe just how bad it really gets.
The University of Texas has 50,000 students. Nobody wants to leave once they finish school. So, yes, there are tons of 20- and 30-something single women.
There are three main entertainment districts in Austin, all within easy walking distance of each other. Sixth Street is the younger area, very heavy on the college kids. Red River is the hipster area, where you'll find lots of skinny jeans and facial hair. There are still some kids in this area, but on the whole it runs a little older. The Warehouse District is a little older. This is where you'll find people out of college and into their careers, mostly from mid-20s all through their 30s and 40s.
