CLICK HERE TO GET YOU LINES (It is highly suggested you copy and paste your picks into the quick reply box. This is the eassiest and quickest way to post. You will have to backspace out irrelevent information or perhaps add the words "over or under")

HERE are the official contest rules for quick reference

POSTING RULES:

-We are using "Live Lines"

** You must post the current line at the time of your post. You may not use an earlier line, and you cannot use a different line after you have posted your selection. This rule is based on the ‘honor’ system and will be monitored by the contest moderator and fellow contestants. If you feel that a fellow contestant has posted an incorrect line please post such in the daily picks thread. Even if it is an honest mistakes, there will be consequeces for posting bad lines as noted bellow

** Ruling For Posting Bad Lines:

If a play is posted with lines that favor the poster with respect to the actual Greek line, the play will be graded according to the outcome of the game.
  • If the result of the play would have been a win, it will be graded NO ACTION.
  • If the result would have been a loss, the play will be graded a loss, but using the corrected line at time of post.

-You must post your plays 5 minutes before the start of the first game within your set of games. We use Greek start times as official times. (strictly enforced).

-You may post your plays as soon as the lines are available.

-You MAY use the 5 minute RX.com edit feature to EDIT any typos, incorrect rotation numbers etc. If you fail to edit an error within that 5 minute window, and the error winds up posted, it CANNOT be changed or corrected. Even if you contact a modertor.

-TheRX.com clock will be used as the official clock, and the starting time will be based on the greek starting times as in the link on top of the thread. If you post a 7.05pm start at 7.01 pm, even though the game has started your post is late and will be graded no action. Posters must make their picks 5 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled start time.

-Each play must include three components:
a) the rotation number
b) bet (ML or Total)
c) JUICE (-110, -130) etc.

-You may only post 1 play per line.

-Plays must be posted in order of rotation.

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO POST PLAYS:

1 TORONTO +250
5 CALGARY +115
5 CALGARY UNDER 5 -130
7 SAN JOSE -130

(notice how the plays include three elements, one play per line, and in order of rotation, please also note that rules are strictly enforced, if you are 1 minute late, you are NO ACTION for any relevent games, if you miss a rotation number NO ACTION, if your play is unclear EX: you wrote COL and the moderator doesnt know if you mean Columbus or Colorado, the play is NO ACTION. Do not use symbols such as > or < for over unders. Dont make mistakes and there will be nothing to complain about.

if you use the quick reply, it removes all the "formating" from the Greeks site...

If you click "new post" this does not happen automatically, this is why I suggest that the best way to post plays is to copy and paste from the greeks site into the quick reply, and then edit the selection accordigly so that it matches the rules.

51 Tampa Bay Lightning Over 5½ -120

very nice, easy and fast...now if we can just convince someone to join.

current roster:

Barman
PassTheBuck
Puckhandler
SportSavant
VegasVic
ClubmanCoop

Current Prize Pool : $2160

I think the new live lines format might have shaken out a few what I call "advantage" contest players, leaving a more "pure" bunch of hockey cappers.... Of course the economy down the drain might have something to do with things as well.

Last year I managed 15 people @ $400 each.

This year 6 people so far @ $300 each.

Now, something to consider is that in almot ALL contests, there are always those who wait till the very last day to deposit, so maybe we will see some of them.

in case anyone needs to know why we are using Greek Lines, for a Betjamaica contest, it is becoz, The Greek and Betjamaica are actually sister accounts, but Greek lines come out VERY EARLY, this gives a very wide window to the cappers of when they can post their plays, some like to bet early, others late.... either way, this is a TRUE cappers challenge.

I notice that with totals, THE GREEK doesnt show the VIG if it is the standard -110 on each side.

It will be encumbant on the poster to add the -110 (Obviously).

Anybody got a problem with using this format for a picks page? Just copy and paste teams of your choice and add in +/- vig for ML or O/U . Sure does work for me. Also, I thought we were using a contest room. :think2:

JOH, we can certainly post the days "card" as you did above in the daily picks thread, posting the rules in post # 1 and the days card in post # 2.

we are going to run this contest here (NHL FORUM), this is how it was negoitiated with Betjamacai, and they want their name in print in a room that will be seen by more eyes. Since the hockey form is not as big as other sports forums we agreed to do this.

EDIT: I just noticed that your "rules link" is to the posting rules, not the general rules, that is also fine, I just want to make sure they are clear as crystal for the first week or so.

Now, something to consider is that in almot ALL contests, there are always those who wait till the very last day to deposit, so maybe we will see some of them.

As will be the case for me. I get paid on Tuesday and the funds will be deposited in my betjam account and requested to be transferred to the holding account accordinly on the 18th. I am in for sure then. I have asked several questions about this contest as I just want to be familiar with everything involved. My last two comments to address are that I see that betjam does not offer any elaborate types of NHL wagering over and above the typical ML, PL, and totals. So we can have no picks for regulation ML, -0.5, buying goals on totals, etc. Just typical standard all OT/SO included normal wagering then huh? Finally my last question is that if everyone agree I would like to request the more people getting paid in the end is the better so at least you know what rank you have to meet in order to "place" and when/how will this be determined? It looks as though we are going to have about 10 people or so and I think it would be best (provided others agree I guess) that at least 3 or 4 get prize money divided over a specific percentage of rank in the end. Thanks in advance for running this contest should be a lot of fun for us NHL fans and GL to everyone!

SkateSharpener, im not sure if you are aware or if you missed part of the contest instructions, however, this contest is ML's ant TOTALS ONLY. there are no Puck lines and no other types of bets allowed.

Also, the link I posted to get the lines is from THE GREEK. The reason I chose THE GREEK is listed in post # 6 in this thread.

We will determine the prizes before the first bets are placed on tuesday.

SUGGESTION - that we permit a four day grace period (to Saturday by 7pm edt) for final entries. This would jive with possible Friday paydays etc

The contestants already entered would have those four extra days from which to get a potential head start on late arrivals and as for the latter group, I don't see any advantage gained by their having not been involved during the Tue-Friday stretch - any more than had they been in and not made any selections for those days.

Thanks for the response. So no parlays either just all individual ML or total plays only right? So 4 games max per day is the limit do you have to post everyday or is their no minumum and thats just the maximum? If so what does 220 picks average out to "per day" throughout the duration of the contest which ends in April? GL guys..my money will be in on Tuesday!!!

Roughly 146 days of contest, probably 140-142 days where hockey is played. Ends up being close to 1.5 picks per day to get to 220. I might be off a bit with these figures, but the 1.5 is pretty close.
