Hey guys. Great site with a ton of info. I figured someone here would have an idea as to something a buddy of mine told me.

He said that Betfair was trying to work out a deal with U.S racetracks to give them a cut of their handle with an eye on being legal for U.S. customers to use in the very near future. Is there any truth to this?

I absolutely love the exchange format for horses and am currently with ehorsex. I like them, but liquidity can be a pain at times. Being able to use Betfair for horses would be awesome.

Thanks in advance guys. Happy Holidays everyone.

The liquidity at ehorse sucks on most days, or at the very least during the week.

The tracks in the U.S. are too greedy to let this in. They are fighting to get a bigger share of the ADW dollar, not less. My 2 cents.

I maybe wrong but I'd think the attempted deal was more to do with bringing the US tote betting option on to the betfair platform, just as you now can bet on the UK tote through the betfair platform. In addition betfair would pay some compen for the utility provided by their racing product to non americans using the exchange.

ie giving SoCal racing a couple of new income streams. Which is a million miles from letting Americans on the exchange. As I say, I don't know for sure.
