I have some new hours at work and they aren't diet friendly. I work from 5am to 2pm. So I get extremly hungery in the mornings and try to starve my self until 11am and I can't eat a light dinner too early or else my stomach will growl at night and keep me from sleeping.
Starving yourself isn't the way to go.

the more muscle your body has the more it burns on its own .... lift some weights, build a little muscle your gut will shrink....whatever you do, do not stop eating....not eating is the complete opposite of what you should be doing to lose weight.

Whatever you eat, keep it small portions. Eat a bite, wait a minute, eat another bite, wait another minute. Before you know it, you won't even be hungry anymore and you can stop.

Eliminate all sodas, chips, candy, and other shit that you know isn't going to help you reach your goal. Save that for one saturday, or one night a week you're gonna watch a big game.

Keep gum and healthy snacks like carrot sticks around to chew on during the day.

Do that for a few months, and you'll be able to see your little man again when you're standing at the john. Also, they say that for every 50lbs you lose, you gain another inch on your johnson.

I'm going to fast the entire day, just to spite these rediculous comments.

I went from 6'0" 180 to 6'0" 220 in about 6 months since I drank almost every night and gave up on exercise.

I just started eating smaller meals more often throughout the day and trying to stay away from fast food and pizza. A salad here, some peanuts there... Until you do it, you really don't realize just how little you need to eat before you feel full. Just cause I can eat an entire pizza before I get full doesn't mean I have to when the same result can be achieved with eating a pizza and waiting 30 minutes.

Anyway, go to the gym if you want. Me personally, I'll toss in some pushups, situps, and jumping jacks. I also do chores around the house as fast as I can which is an easy way to work up a sweat... plus you are getting chores done.

I used to play Madden and do a certain amount of pushups and jumping jacks for every score/turnover/ etc etc. Worked really well. Turned sitting on my ass and playing video games into exercise. It was a good way to go since it didn't really feel like working out as much.

Anyway, change to smaller, healthy meals more times a day and get some exercise however you see fit.

I've lost about 20 pounds in 2 months doing it. Still not back to about 5-8% bodyfat I need to get too and still have a minor beer belly, but I'm still drinking alot and the weight is comin off.

Isn't funny how that beer belly just sneaks up on you unnoticed until it is too late?

Back to 204 after a day of drinking, burritos, crunch wrap supremes, and pizza.

I'm a fuckup but it's not the end of the world as I'll work my ass off for 2 hours tomorrow.

My roommate from a few months ago before I moved in with my girlfriend is a fighter (think UFC but smaller shows right now) and eats pizza and junk food more than anyone else I know. Guy is f-in ripped though cause he works out for an hour or two a day. You don't have to totally give up on the junk foods as long as what you input isn't greater than the work you do to work it off.

This is a good post too.

I have days where I eat like a whore, just like you described. But you gather yourself and make up for it.

If you are a fitness rat like you describe your friend, you can pretty much eat what you want.

All gamblers have a competitive nature. At first I didnt like cardio-work either, but found a jogging trail in town that a lot of single women use. Goldmine!! Once you see others out there working on their bods, it gets a lot easier. You soon see you are not the fattest slob on the block (hope so anyway).

Or find a 24 hr. gym, and get that gut on the treadmill. Soon the body will learn it needs to shed that gut to make work easier. Keep eating though, and make sure you drink lots of water, gatorade, etc., especially in summer, so the fat can burn off more efficiently.

A short story, I went broke 20 yrs ago, and took a job washing cars (at age 33) on a car lot. In 2 months, I went from 220# to 197, and my pants were three inches too big. I didnt think I could slim down that much, but was amazed at how that exercise reduced my gut, without ever doing one sit-up! Cardio work is the key, and it can be a low-to-modest work load, but over a good amount of time, like 2 or 3 hours a day.

Once you get on the program, and see some results, you are hooked, and good health will become a habit, just like beer is now.
