All gamblers have a competitive nature. At first I didnt like cardio-work either, but found a jogging trail in town that a lot of single women use. Goldmine!! Once you see others out there working on their bods, it gets a lot easier. You soon see you are not the fattest slob on the block (hope so anyway).
Or find a 24 hr. gym, and get that gut on the treadmill. Soon the body will learn it needs to shed that gut to make work easier. Keep eating though, and make sure you drink lots of water, gatorade, etc., especially in summer, so the fat can burn off more efficiently.
A short story, I went broke 20 yrs ago, and took a job washing cars (at age 33) on a car lot. In 2 months, I went from 220# to 197, and my pants were three inches too big. I didnt think I could slim down that much, but was amazed at how that exercise reduced my gut, without ever doing one sit-up! Cardio work is the key, and it can be a low-to-modest work load, but over a good amount of time, like 2 or 3 hours a day.
Once you get on the program, and see some results, you are hooked, and good health will become a habit, just like beer is now.
