Best rewards credit cards?

Long story short I came out of my divorce with shit credit, 580ish. Have it up above 700 now.

One of the ways I did that was getting a shitty capital one card, running it almost to max every month and then paying it off in full. Then they increased my credit limit, which improved my credit score, etc.

Getting to the point now where I can get approved for some better cards (and ditch the capital 1) and was looking for advice. Torn between getting an airline type card that lets me earn miles, or something like the NFL extra points card that give me points towards gear and tickets. Maybe I'll get one of each.

In the interest of getting the best advice: I fly Delta mostly cause the Atlanta hub is near where I live, plus they fly directly into my hometown. I'm already Delta Skymiles silver and earn lots of points just from business travel.

As far as sports, I'd say I am a baseball/NFL/NHL fan equally, with NBA being well behind those 3.

I don't want to pay an annual membership fee if possible.

My cap 1 sits with a 1400 balance that I can pay off now, or transfer the balance to a new card (if I can get a 0% transfer fee, and paying it off on the rewards card is beneficial to me). It's due May 8th.

So what cards out there do you think give me best bang for my buck? Thanks for any advice.

I do visit that site regularly, that's actually what got me thinking.

They recommend the Blue Cash Everyday Amex and the NFL Extra Points card...based on my spending patterns.

the Costco credit card is the nuts. 4% back on all gas. 3% on food + travel.
2% back at Costco. 1% back on everything else. FYI all my 1% purchases
go on other cards which give greater rewards.

Just got it and put my purchase on it at 0% for 7 months. No fee and cash back to buy more stuff at Costco really tough to beat !

$450 annual fee? yikes!

You get a $300 credit though on travel, that can be airlines, hotels, etc. So when I signed up for the reserve I made a large purchase that I was going to make anyways. This got me the 100,000 points. Also I stay in hotels frequently so I used up that $300 credit quick and the fee is only $150 basically, which I will make up easy with points.

I remember my southwest credit card. 50,000 points for spending $2,000.
that got us a free cross country round trip flight worth $900.
my Disney card got us $200 in Disney dollars for a small amount of spending.
my marriot card got us $100 credit first marriot stay and 25,000 points for spending
a little.
in the old days we has bonus whores in sports betting who ground out a living.
maybe nowadays being a credit card whore and changing cards once one has
qualified for the bonus might be the way to go.

Now that you're fico is greater than 700, you should avoid using high percentages of available credit each month, regardless if you are paying the entire balance.

Capital should be able to move your current account to a quicksilver. They did that for my wife basically without asking.

It's simple 1.5 Cashback

Everything it hits a said amount a check will be sent automatically.
