I played Country Club of the South a few years ago. I shot my typical 110. Doesn't matter where I play it is always a 110 with 8 lost balls.

Hey Brock,

A couple comments...

1) Otter Creek is no doubt the course you refer to in Columbus. You ABSOLUTELY cannot go wrong there. Try to play the middle and the west nines. These two make up the original championship course which has hosted all sorts of tournaments. But, the other nine is not bad either.

2) You must be a real go-getter. Kind of early in the year to go to Wiscy. Best of luck on that. I looked at the website and the course does look great. I have had the pleasure to play a great many Nicklaus courses and they are all pretty tough but they are pretty much all spectacular. (Desert Highlands, 3 of the Desert Mountain courses, Sycamore Hills in Ft Wayne IN, Pawleys Plantation in Myrtle Beach, and others)

Looks like you could make a great (and very expensive) extended trip to that Wisconsin area.

Best wishes to you and Matt!

Johnny,

I played with a great guy in Vegas years back.

He only measured his day on the course by one thing. When he got home his wife would ask, "How many balls did you lose?". That was pretty much the only way he kept score.

Packer...I will be emailing you...

We seem to have some stuff to chat about!

I love the opinions you have had so far, an email to you and i will have plenty of stuff to ask, since you know about the courses in this general area.

I am really getting into the game now that i got a new set of Calloway big bertha irons and woods, made me a better player in the confidence and forgiveness of the clubs. Fortunately i keep beating my playing partners and the golf is on them all the time! LOL

The Bull is only 85 bux right now, would check otu Whistling Striats, but thats up in the 200+ dollar range.

Well i tried the Bull at Pinehurst Farms in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin this past Friday and I must say it doesn't get much better than that for difficulty and shear fabulous design.

The place was fortunate enough to be put in the spot it was, a natrual setting perfectly suited for championship golf! I highly recommend you guys check this place out, about 1 hour north of Milwaukee, the same little area that will be hosting the PGA in August at Whistling Straits about 15 mins away, this course is just as tough and cheaper too!

Check it out ASAP!

Hey Packer, ever heard of or played or know anyone who has played this course?

The Rich Harvest Links Course at Plantation at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, IL.

Seems next to impossible to get on here without knowing the owner.

I wish I was able to attend, was just out there a few weeks ago. Maybe we could get an RX outing at Shadow Creek!

Throwing an international flavour to this.

1 - Monte Mayor - Spain. Amazing Course - shooting over ravines, island greens and the most amazing scenery. very tough especially when the wind blows and it can!

2 - Turnberry - Ailsa course. The best links course that I've played (would love to play Pebble) and requires all sorts of shotmaking as the wind rarely is far away.

3 - Wadi Course - Dubai. Just a stunning course and facilities. A must if you venture out this way.

4 - La Cala - North Course - A typically beautiful mountain course in southern Spain but the 18th is something to behold. 559 yard par 5 that has about a 300 foot drop on the second shot.

Just to mention Wentworth - west course - surrey england (home of the volvo PGA and match play) is way overated.

Brock,

If you want to pay the price to stay at an MGM/Mirage property..

You can then pay ONLY $500 for 18 holes at Shadow. No big secret.

That is... if there are any tee times available.

I had a chance to play at Sandhills CC in Nebraska but I had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts...once in a lifetime opportunity.

This info is GUARANTEED accurate

I have played Wolf Run and it is a tricked up piece of SH!T!

Was requested to be built to be dificult just for conversation.

Hard to get in and not at all worthwhile after you do!

Don't give any serious thought to Wolf Run.

Stocks I paid approx 1400 for the entire set, plus a new golf bag and shoes ETC...

I love the set, improved my game and made me much more confident in my shots, have no trouble hitting a 270+ drive on every hole with the Big Bertha driver..
