My best story happened around 8 years ago on a Friday night at Maywood Park Racetrack. It was getting late, most tracks were finished racing accept for the west coast tracks. I handicapped the late pick 4 at Cal Expo. I invested $20. A $95 horse wins race 1, followed by a 1-1, and a 5-2. I was live to the 2 favorites in the last leg. It's after 1:00 am Chicago time. The pick 4 probables are posted. With the favorite the payout was $6,800, with the 2nd choice the payout was $21,500, the whole pool. I was in shock. My 2 horses finished 1-2. Not even close. The second choice won at 7-2 odds and I took down the whole pool of $21,500.

The odds of the pick 4 sequence were: 45-1, 1-1, 5-2, 7-2. This is what I call being in the right place at the right time.

I call bullshit on the 26 (actually 27 since you said you hit 26 after the initial black hit). I also call bullshit on the subsequent 17 blacks in a row a few days later. You might as well tell us you won the megabucks given the odds involved.

2^27 = 1 in 134,217,728

2^17 = 1 in 131,072

as a roulette dealer for only going on 2 months now, i put up 15 straight blacks the other night, with 3 repeat numbers in there, ironically it was 00 green that broke the streak

no reason for zit to come on here and just call bs on that story regardless. Crazy things happen in gambling and the whole point of this thread is to tell those stories. The guy comes on here and does nothing but bash another guys post and leave. Really contributes a lot.

Dave Feldman, he was self appointed president of the BDH club. He would often write in his column first 25 or 50 fans to see him at the track would be treated to an ice cream cone. He loved his ice cream.

True....now you know I speak the truth...he was a LEGEND

Justin,

If the purpose of the thread was to make up your greatest gambling story, that would be one thing. It seems to me that people are interested in hearing things that actually happened.

But, his "story" about hitting 27 blacks in a row, and then hitting 17 in a row a few days later just didn't happen.

If me pointing out the truth of that makes you cry and get your panties in a wad, then so be it.

If you actually think it did happen, then you're dumber than I thought.

(BTW, I wasn't the first one to voice skepticism about the story either)

Once i saw the history of the roulette wheel have 6 or 7 consexutive of one color. ...then bet on thw oppisite color. ..probably went something like $10, $20, $40, 80, 100, 100 ....then was broke and had a friend do $100 & lose.. I didnt stick around to follow cause I was pissed but that is about 13 or 14 and counting

Wrong thread and right thread for this story

I have witnessed two streaks of 15 (both player) in one night...neither one of which was at my table. I have also seen a shoe with no ties and one with four in a row. Both occurrences don't even touch the odds of 27 black in a row especially when you consider the 0 and 00.

Had this big guy I/we used to hang out with...I mean big! We had a huge Sunday party with lobsters, steaks, keg, and all the trimmings. Well this guy decides to get down on the Sunday night game - large. Kick-off and the guy is in the process of bringing it in and he's cheering - Go! Go! Someone tells him he has the other side and without a blink he starts... Get 'em! Get 'em! One of the funniest things I've ever seen gambling.

Doesn't really bother me that FZ doesn't believe. Who cares? I was there. lol. And I enjoyed every minute of it. It's not like I don't have many more stories of just getting my ass handed to me.

While living there, headed out to Mandalay one night with about $800. Told the valet to keep my car by the door and I'd get him a great tip when I won. Went in and played aggressively, pushing when I was winning. Within an hour I had turned the $800 into $10,000 playing two handed at BJ. High on life, walked out to leave and then remembered I needed a tip for the guy. I was such an idiot that I didn't want to take it out of the $10K I had earned. So I went back in, thinking a quick $100 would be easy. Put one black down. Loser. $200 down. Loser. $400 down. Loser. Now I am sitting down, trying to get back there. You know where this story goes. Lost the entire $10K trying to win a damn valet his tip. Worse thing is that when I did leave with zero, I still had nothing left to tip the guy. Sucked bad.

Or how about the Circus Circus beating. I was up some good money on the week and decided to hit CC with about $2400. I could not win a single hand. Nothing. Double downs. Splits. Whatever. Nothing. I lost 19 straight hands before losing it all. I ended up borrowing another $150 from a friend and playing $5 a hand, just to see where the streak would end. Ended up with 24 straight losses playing perfect strategy. Worse run ever. What are the odds of THAT one FZ?

You play enough (and I did living there) and you see it all. I have some great memories from those two years. Sorry that you can't wrap your head around the truth of my story. DOn't much care though.

As for my biggest sports bet... Came many years later on a trip. Stayed at the Stratosphere. Dropped $8,800 on one ticket taking the Bears -9 in the playoffs. Of course it lost, otherwise it would not have been my biggest bet to date. SIgh. Oh well... I've had good and bad runs. These days, if I take $500 to the casinos to play poker, it is a huge night for me. Two kids will do that to you.

Enjoy.

good stories, keep 'em coming. over the two years living there, how much would you say you lost overall? i'm assuming it's a loss only because it sounds like you had a very hard time walking away when up (as most do).

That's an interesting question and looking back after we moved away, resulted in my charting every penny gambled since.

Despite the few stories above, my problem was not usually walking away when I was up. It was never walking away down. I chased BAD. In fact, the first few months, when I had a few good runs, I was able to prepay most of our bills 2 years out. Every time I won, I took half or so and began paying rent until I found myself with two years worth paid. I loved the feeling so much that I started attacking other bills. Win $1500? Ok, that pays directv for a year. Etc. After three months I had two years paid of everything. The only thing I needed was food, and that came mostly from comps all over town. We ate free a lot. It was a differet time then too. Easy to get comps. Ate at Sunset Station ALL the time.

As for being up or down? I'd love to say I kicked the crap out of Vegas those two years, but hell, not even close. I'd GUESS that I was down somewhere close to $80K. But I was playing probably 30-40 hours a week (mostly BJ - like an idiot). But we had so much fun. It was before kids. Before responsibility. Easy money in that town, and we rode it for everything we could. Fast life. And of course that is why we left.

I had a monster run in 05 or 06 on Betwwts in the last two weeks of the NFL preseason and the first week of college football. I turned 40 bucks into 9 grand. I started out betting the favorites in the first half in week 3 of the preseason when the starters actually played a full half. Then a few weeks later when NCAA football started I went big on the SEC teams playing cupcakes. Cashed out and paid off a lot of bills and took a nice vacation. I think out of 15 bets or so I didn't lose a single one.

I remember being at work one night refreshing my phone every 10 seconds just because I had 2 or 3 grand on the Colts -7 in the first half in a preseason game. I figured I'd do this every year but it hasn't worked since.

I had a guy who worked for me about 15 years ago, a real victim degenerate. Called the book one night during baseball season. A young girl answers the phone, he says, "Hi. Is George home?" She says no, I am the baby sitter, can I help you. So he says to her: "Yeah, can you give him these?" She says sure. He bets 5 games, wins them all. Calls back next night, says to George: "What's my figure?" George is off about $600. My man says: "What about the games I gave to the babysitter?" George says: "What babysitter? I was here all night!" F'n guy called the wrong number!!! Babysitter must have had a good laugh. I still chuckle when I think about it. What a loser this guy was.

What the hell did you do to allow you to not work and lose 80k at the casino's?
