For the people here at the Rx that have visited Costa Rica, Which Casino is the best?

I can only think of one that tops all of them....

I like the Horseshoe cuz they let you play real Blackjack. It is a bit different for people who surrender, as a surrender loses if dealer gets a blackjack....but I don't surrender, so I love it.

Of course, the DR is tops for scenery.

Jake you are so right, DR gives you alittle bit of everything. What I dont like is there jackpots arent that big compared to other casinos. For example I had a four of a kind with acouple of those chips up front and i got like 150 bucks. Thats pretty freakin weak.

skirmish I have never actually played at Horseshoe. Horseshoe used to be Cheetas right?

Sean:

That is correct , if the limits to low for you speak to management and they will usually accommodate with higher limits .

That place is really nice. We had our Christmas party there. Awesome view from up there also. Played some Black Jack and Roulette in the casino, then got loaded drinking Centanario.

Love Tara, but the food is horrible. I have had a few dinners there, inluding a Valentine's Day dinner....never very good. The VIEW, however, is amazing.

Colonial is very close to the top for me..but without real blackjack, I can't give it #1. Although, if you play Craps, then playing at the Colonial is a MUST.

Has anyone been to the Radisson casino ? I heard it was REALLY nice. I've been to the Del Rey, Tropical, Royal Dutch, Horseshoe(formerly Cheetahs) Colonial, Coco Verde, Melia Corobici, Tripp Corobici, Herradura, Boulevard and the Fiesta not to mention all of the beach hotel casinos. But I liked the Radisson the best.

When I go to Costa Rica and am in San Jose, I usually go to casinos. I have been to almost everyone of them so I can give you an opinion.

Horseshoe: Nicely remoldeled Casino, nice sportsbook upstairs and they offer american card games.
Colonial: Has been around forever, good for Craps but other than that there are better places.
Del Rey: Sucks if you want to play, but the scenery is nice if you want to see some ladies.
Radison: Definitely in the top 3. They don´t have a craps table but their payouts are high and they have poker as well. Big Casino open 24 hours and always offering something for the player.
Corobici: This place has the nicest crowd and lots of tables. It is not downtown so you aren´t surrounded by the scum. They have all the American games and the service is good.

All the other casinos are smaller with lower limits. You definitely will be satisfied with the above casinos. Good Luck!

go sit at the horse shoe and ask a pit boss. i was in there in may and a guy was playing 100 and 500 chips spread over the craps table. i know of a casino host that takes clients down there and you can play what ever you want. you just need to ask.
