Best Beach Cities/Areas O/T

I'm not much of a beach person, but in answer to questions about Texas beaches, the water is murky all along the Texas coast. You have to go several miles offshore to find blue water. Galveston is OK but crowded and hot in the summer. The only other beach close to a large city is Corpus Christi.

The best thing about our beaches is, in most cases you can drive on them. Just drive to a secluded spot and make camp.

I've also heard you can get some good surfing there as well when the wind comes through.

Lots of hang-gliders here too.
