Lander. I've read it, and except for a few differences, I thought I was reading the Republican Platform.

Given John Kerry's propensity for changing direction in mid-stream, I don't BELIEVE any of it.

Starting on his return from Vietnam, when he accused all Vietnam Vets of attrocities, and all the way through his career, Kerry has shown that he'll jump ship in midstream, and desert to the other side. It's kind to call it flip-flopping - I call it backstabbing!

I keep telling you guys on the "left" to stop engaging these idiots on this. Kerry's platform is a piece of paper and that is it. If he becomes President the Republicans are going to be so pissed at him and play partisan politics so badly that virtually nothing he proposes will see a vote. That is a certainty, that will be how Republicans will play ball. And that will be a good thing because the Clinton years proved that gridlock works. When gridlock rules, partisan puppet stuff doesn't pass. You don't get a blank check to pass your agenda. And I think people on both sides of the aisle can agree that when govenrment is forced out of the country's way and not allowed to muddle much in the economy, we all do better. W ought to know this if he was true to what he says he is, but he is not. He is just a mouthpiece for an agenda that spends and spends, yet thinks as long as they give you a bone in a tax cut you should forgive them.

Kerry would be magnificent if he just followed this. Get in front of the people and say "the Republicans believe in the free lunch, I do not" and leave it at that. If Kerry gets elected the spending of the past few years will dry up, the tax revenues will grow, the markets will gain a lot more confidence in the long-term fiscal picture, and all these things on Kerry's platform will be forgotten because they won't see the light of day.

bblight: "Starting on his return from Vietnam, when he accused all Vietnam Vets of attrocities..."

Here we go again. Turn every thread into anti-Kerry Viet Nam record diatribe.

By the way, can you post me one quote where Kerry has said that all Viet Nam vets were guilty of atrocities. Not some, all.

Gotta quit twisting the truth like that.

MudBone, that depends on what the definition of is is.

Haven't you watched the replays of the congressional hearings? He said "everyone" as in "all". Kerry said it, not me!

I will turn every thread into an anti-Kerry Vietnam diatribe - since that's the record he's running on, as A vietnam Vet. Right after Vietnam is when he joined forces with the likes of Hanoi Jane (may the bitch rot in hell) and he turned on his brother vets! He didn't accuse the Government of attrocities; he accused the soldiers in Vietnam - his brothers and sisters in arms.

MudBone, given your handle, and a few comments you've made, I assume you're black. Why don't you check it out with a few black Vietnam Vets and see how many attrocities they committed.

Many Vietnam Vets were drafted - they did their duty and came back to the world understanding what a joke Vietnam was. Many of them turned against the war - but very few of them turned on their brother veterans like Kerry did.

As a Massachusetts resident I've known this joker and his record for 35 years - he's a back stabber and and elitist - he's not to be trusted.

Hey Wild Bill, that sounds like what the Dems did when Reagan, Sr, and now Jr were in office - what's good for the goose is good for the gander!

And you're wrong about the spending - Kerry's record is that of a big spending liberal - He'll find a reason to increase taxes and grow government - the tiger don't change his stripes.

I am not wrong for a simple reason. Republicans are in control right now and are very unlikely to lose it mid-terms. So they control the purse strings. How do you suppose the President controls the spending when Congress makes the final decisions on the budget, subject to signing or veto? Kerry's record is irrelevant on this unless you think the GOP loses the Congress. Otherwise Kerry's programs aren't going to be implemented in any form near what he has now. About the only thing I could see happening is a standoff on the taxes so the tax cuts would be rolled back, something I won't cry over. I know I know, you all want to call that a tax increase, but it is merely living with a "deal" that was cut awhile back and promptly ignored by all those that passed it.

WildBill - I won't disagree - I think that most non-Americans (and a lot of Americans as well) don't understand that the best part of our government is the gridlock - they march lockstep when there's an emergency - otherwise they're at each others throat.

For the last time, he never said "everyone". Point out a transcript or audio clip where he did and I'll retract.

There are a lot of vets who support Kerry as well - I will demonstrate this in another post.

Bblight: "MudBone, given your handle, and a few comments you've made, I assume you're black. Why don't you check it out with a few black Vietnam Vets and see how many attrocities they committed."

Actually I belong to Veterans for Kerry (I was in Gulf War I) and there are quite a few Nam vets who support Kerry.

Also, I grew up in Mass (town of Westford, went to school at UMass - Lowell, then it was just ULowell) and am as pale as any white boy out there. Only chose Mudbone as a handle cause my favorite comedian was Richard Pryor and my favorite character he ever did was an old chitlin circuit comedian from Tupelo Mississippi - Mudbone. Anyway, if you have never seen Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip, check it out.

Btw, Bblight, I don't think we'll ever agree on much, but I and the rest of us owe you gratitude for your service. Thanks.
