Sanders aide pushes back against CBS switch to foreign policy focus for debate

The dispute centered on CBS’s decision to increase the emphasis on terrorism, foreign policy, and national security in the wake of the attacks that left more than 100 people dead in Paris on Friday night. According to the rival staffer, Sanders strategist Mark Longabaugh lit into CBS vice president and Washington bureau chief Christopher Isham when the changes to the debate were detailed on the call.

Of course not. His entire Euro-centric fantasy world will come crashing down to Earth!

The questions have been changed no doubt but they should probably not even have their debate at all tonight after what has happened in france..

Was probably going to be the same "See who can promise for freebies" debate, where whoever promises the most wins the debate.

CBS moderator John Dickerson asked frontrunner Hillary Clinton if she would characterize the war on terrorism as a war against "radical Islam," as some Republican candidates had done. Clinton offered this lengthy reply:

I don’t think we’re at war with Islam. I don’t think we’re at war with all Muslims. I think we’re at war with jihadists. I think you can talk about Islamists who clearly are also jihadists but its not particularly helpful to make the case…that we’ve got to reach out to Muslim countries, have them be part of our coalition, if they hear people running for president who basically short cut it to say we are somehow against Islam. That was one of the real contributions, despite all the other problems, that George W. Bush made after 9/11 when he basically said after going to a mosque in Washington, ‘We are not at war with Islam or Muslims.’ We are at war with violent extremism, we are at war with people who use their religion for purposes of power and oppression, and yes we are at war with those people but I don’t want us to paint with too broad a brush.

Republican candidates quickly took to Twitter to disagree with Clinton (and the other two Democrats on stage):

Why won't President Obama use the term Islamic Terrorism? Isn't it now, after all of this time and so much death, about time!

What an absolutely pathetic group of candidates.

They don't hold the debates when anyone will actually watch since their views are all nutty. Bernie Sanders saying with a straight face that climate change has led to the growth of ISIS should lead to him being laughed off the public stage. The problem is, America is no longer a serious country.
