What do you guys think over/under 5.5. I already know pretty much everyone will say under cuz theyre the bengals, but I thought I'd throw it up for discussion.
I have read pretty much every article on the Bengals, and there is definately a new attitude. Marvin Lewis seems like the real deal and I feel they will be competitve in every game. 6 wins I believe is very possible.

The offense was clicking for the most part at the end of the year. WR Chad Johnson could be a pro bowler next year, Peter Warrick and 3rd rounder Kelly Washington will fill out a solid WR corps. Dillon is Dillon. The line is now pretty solid with the addition of 2nd rounder Steinbach who was a top 15 talent. How many INTs will Kitna throw is the question.

The defense is revamped. New players brought in all over the place. Kevin Hardy arrives to man the middle. Duane Clemons and Carl Powell(a few NFL personell man have said this was a steal, I have my doubts), add to the line. Tory James at CB will be a big addition as will Dennis Weathersby who was a steal in the 4th round, he is already pretty much 100%. The loss of Spikes is big, but I feel Hardy will be able to fill in nicely.

The Bengals werew 17th and 18th offensively and defensivley(those might be switched) yet somehow managed to have the worst record in football??? A couple playoff teams I believe were worse in both categories. The Special Teams coach was axed and that is being revamped as well. This team has a lot of talent, and the offense was playing well at the end of the year, Marvin Lewis should bring the defense up to par.

2003 REGULAR SEASON

DENVER-Win: Think Cincy will be ready at home and Plummer might not be ready with Denver(1-0)

at Oakland-Loss(1-1)

PITTSBURGH:Loss(1-2)

at CLEVELAND:Win: I don't think Cleveland will find a way to win as often as last year(2-2)

at Buffalo: Loss(2-3)

BALTIMORE:Win(3-3)

SEATTLE:Win(4-3)

at Arizona:Win(5-3)

HOUSTON:Win(6-3) man is this stretch easy or what, only the Bengals can screw this up-and they will!

KANSAS CITY:Loss (6-4)

at San Diego

at Pitt

at Baltimore:4 straight losses have brought the Bengals back to reality, now at 6-7

NINERS:Loss(6-8)

at Rams:Loss (6-9) 6 straight!

BROWNS:Win (7-9)

MATT

I THINK CICNY IS STILL A YEAR OR TWO AWAY FROM BEING A 500 TEAM. THERE IS NO WAY CICNY WILL BEAT THE BROWNS AND RAVENS THIS YEAR.THE ARIZONA AND DENVER GAMES ARE TOSS UPS AS WELL.I LOOK FOR CICNY TO WIN ABOUT 5 GAMES THIS YEAR AND FOLLOW UP NEXT YEAR WITH 7 TO 9. YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND CICNY HAS BEEN BAD SO LONG THEY HAVE TO LEARN TO WIN AGAIN.ITS COMING BUT JUST NOT THIS YEAR.ANOTHER GOOD DRAFT COULD SPEED THINGS UP.

BEST OF LUCK THIS YEAR.

With the Bengals offers tremendous value IMO. I don't play futures at all or else I would be on it. I don't see them at 8-8 this year but I do think 6-10, 7-9 is high attainable by this Lewis led team with the new attitude!

All I can say is that a home win against Denver would be great.

Don't see it happening, but sure, the Bengals have some decent players and 6 wins isn't so much to ask, is it? Actually, I'd be tempted to take the under.

2003 REGULAR SEASON

DENVER-Win: Can't reasonably expect them to beat Denver in this game. First, Denver is better but more importantly with a new head coach (and I assume off. and def. coordinators), teams take at least four weeks to adjust.(0-1)

at Oakland-Loss(0-2)

PITTSBURGH:Loss(0-3)

at CLEVELAND: Can't see them winning at CLevleand. They should split with the Browns but I'll give them the home win, not the road win.(0-4)

at Buffalo: Loss(0-5)

BALTIMORE: Assuming their confidence isn't broken yet, they should start to gel by now and could get a win. (1-5)

SEATTLE: I think Seattle will be tough this year. They could win this game but lets side on the conservative side, in terms of trying to justify the over.(1-6)

at Arizona:Win(2-6)

HOUSTON:Win(3-6) man is this stretch easy or what, only the Bengals can screw this up-and they will!

KANSAS CITY: Still no defense in KC. Cincy has a good shot here. (4-6)

at San Diego

at Pitt

at Baltimore:3 straight losses have brought the Bengals back to reality, now at 4-9

NINERS: I think they can win this game. They should be playing much better and the Niners just aren't that good. (5-9)

at Rams:Loss (5-10)

BROWNS:Win (6-10)

A 6-10 record gets you the "over" but I like to have at least a 2 game difference from my projected record. That gives me some flexibility in prediciting wins/losses. There is no question Cincy could beat Denver, Seattle or even Cleveland on the road but again, I'd rather be conservative than too aggressive.

I think you'll find better value out there. And, as well as they have done during the off season, there is no guarantee that Lewis will be a good head coach. Good luck.

why does everybody thinks marvin lewis is great

after he left baltimore, the team had a very successful defense even without the killer lewis for 12 games

in wash, the defense was worse than coach schott's def the year before

he had all this great talent and the best corners in the nfl & and he did shit
actully the def and wash is glad he left

YES! you have to wait until season's end - because i'm sure the play is dependant on all 16 games being played. the bungals could be 9-6 heading into the last game - and if it didn't get played for whatever reason - your bet would (most likely) be graded NO ACTION
