Already been 10 years since Cal Ripken broke the legendary Lou Gehrig's Ironman streak!
Do you remember where you were when Ripken broke the mark, as I recall he homered on both the game he tied the mark and the record breaker game, both vs California Angels...
I was living in Ocean City back then , having the time of my life, sunshone and summer beach fun daily...I remember Cal thanking only one player in his speech and that was Eddie Murray, he thanked Murray for teaching him so much about coming to work everyday ready to play and being professional...
I was never a huge Ripken fan and being from Maryland that was somewhat unusual .
Its hard to believe 10 more years have passed :howdy:
2632 straight ballgames when it was all said and done, Ripken quietly took a night off late in the season vs the New York Yankees, 500 games after he broke the record.
