You don't need to sit around a room with a bunch of cry babies here how they lost it all and now need help to pay the rent. Nine out of ten of them come for a few weeks/months to appease a family member and then say they are cured till the next time they take food from the mouths of their loved ones.

The best source of rehabilitation is to come here and pull up all the JJ Gold threads. That should be enough for you never to have the urge again to gamble.

FWIW some 12 step groups like AA - NA - and GA have actually worked for some people. I speak from experience regarding AA soon to celibrate a day at time 15 years of sobriety. The fact that I haven't had a drink in 15 years is amazing to me. I know my family appreciates it. The whole process is self help and up to the individual to make the programs work. Sure there are a plenty of addicts (of all kind) that relapse but some are able to avoid that. Personally I don't think General Pete needs to go to a GA meeting from what I know of him. I could go on but will stop now and spare the board anymore boring recovery talk.

Did anyone who read this thread consider that maybe I was looking to help someone? I do not need help (Atleast for gambling), but I want to go and listen and maybe I can make a difference for someone if the chance knocks. Maybe I can help that 1 of 10 that really wants help. Can I help? I don't know. Is it ok to look into it? I see No reason why not.
