DUDE ONCE AGAIN YOU ARE POINTING TO SPECIFIC SITUATIONS THAT YOU FAIL AT NOT SPORTS...

Like throwing a shut out... yes that is like saying going 4-4 in a game...

Kicking a 60 yard field goal IS THE HARDEST field goal to kick...

You would have to say kicking a field goal in general because we are talking bout general hitting

Dude that is situations...

You would say is hitting a golf ball..

or throwing a football...

Or catching a football...

Not specific events in the game...

I could say is hitting .400 in a season harder then all those things yes for sure... That is the same situation... And also a specific event...

It is a general saying... I would say hitting .400 for a season is by far the hardest thing to do in sports

Hitting a baseball is not very hard. Grounding into a double-play is hitting a baseball as well. Very few people strike out a high percentage of the time. You are confusing batting average with hitting a baseball.

When was the last time you ever were impressed by the simple fact that someone hit a baseball?

I am not talking about hitting Roger Clem or other greats... I am talking about general hitting... just like general playing golf or general shooting a basketball... that is what the statement means...

That hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports...

It is a general statement... And hitting .400 is the hardest hard thing to do in all of sports

To succeed at hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports...

How about shooting a basketball? If you don't count layups and super short range shots then people in the NBA would only shoot about the same percentage as the leading baseball hitters.

Over half the pitches swung at are hit, so how hard is it? It's not hard at all. Once you get into what qualifies as success then you are making my argument for me. Everyone can hit a baseball.

NO MAN BECAUSE EVERYONE CAN TECHNICALLY DO EVERYTHING...

everyone can throw a baseball or football...

everyone can catch them...

everyone can do everything it is how hard it is to succeed at it that makes it harder... i would put hitting a golf ball up there with it... but the pro's don't slice nearly as much as the pros in baseball strike out or dont get hits...

I actually think hitting a baseball is harder for everyone then any of hte other things...

Anyone can swing at a stationary golf ball and hit it 5 yards...

You are looking at the statement wrong...

You obviously aren't seeing the point so this is a waste of my time...

Later man

The phrase sucks and makes no sense. Hitting a baseball is no more impressive than shooting a basketball, or throwing a football. It's a dumb phrase. Over half the swings in the history of baseball resulted in the ball being hit. At all levels people have no problems hitting a baseball.

Ted Williams has ruined you with this stupid saying. It certainly isn't any tougher than blocking a shot in basketball...statistically speaking. All part of the game. He said it is the toughest thing to do in sports...and it clearly is not.

I am right about this. Good Night.

I am right about this. Good Night.

You're right Dialitup. Just ask Michael Jordan. Hitting a baseball went pretty well for him.
