Per Jim Tressell. Too much soreness in his foot.

This was just announced by Cowherd. I didnt see it out there and thought it was relevant.

IMO, without Wells, OSU has no chance.

Tressel is a sneaky, sneaky man. Yesterday he said Wells was around 80% and now he is doubtful????

Hike that line up to 13 or 14 please and I will hop on Ohio State and you WILL see Wells this weekend. Shit maybe the line shoots up and then back down at game time. I'd gladly take a 3 point middle and root for both teams

Wells was the ? mark that pushed the line up in the first place.. that said I still think even in B. Wells does play NO WAY he is a close to 100% effective.. Bad foot best RB = no major effect.. so if he is in the game he won't give OSU the extra power to put them over the edge.. that said this game could still be close but USC walks away with a win and OSU walks away in shame..

the play is osu. if you want to lose money bet usc 10.5. 10.5 is more than a TD/fg COMBINED

usc is returning one lineman that started last year. everyone else got drafted/graduated.
mark sanchez lit up a virginia defense.. congratulations
keep joe mcknight inside and he is reggie bush nfl

ohio state knows that every nfl scout/gm is watching this game. that defense is not going to disappoint. it is stacked. laurnitis/jenkins returned for one reason. beanie knows that if he runs over usc like mendenhall did last year, he is guaranteed a HUGE payday.

if you really don't think beanie is not going to get shot up with a little cortisone, ankle or no ankle, you're a fucking fool.

usc is going to come in there thinking they will run the game because they are playing in the colliseum. someone is going to get punched in the mouth and its not ohio state. win or lose, they are not going 0 for 3 on a national stage. a blowout is not in the vocabulary for this team

What will happen: Ohio State brought its A game against Ohio ... riiiiiiight. Under Tressel, the Buckeyes have made a living out of playing down to their opponents, but coming through when needed. In 2002, Cincinnati lost to Ohio State 23-19 when a pass went through the receiver's hands in the end zone on the final play. Those Buckeyes survived by the skin of their teeth game after game, and then they beat a supposedly unbeatable Miami team for the national title. This year's team has the same makeup.
Ohio State has been hearing about two things, 57 times a day, every day since Jan. 8: losing two national titles, and the USC game. Of course the Buckeyes were looking ahead to this game. Of course USC saw the Ohio game and, with two weeks off, is going to have a pang of overconfidence. Of course Ohio State is every bit as fast, athletic and good as USC. The difference is experience. Ohio State has more of it than USC.
The Buckeyes will win the turnover and special teams battles, and while Beanie and the running game will get stuffed, the Trojan ground attack will do next to nothing. Sanchez will be terrific. He'll have some big moments, make some key throws, and will show that he could really be the next great USC quarterback, but he'll also throw two key interceptions. Pryor will run for a touchdown, OSU QB Todd Boeckman won't make any mistakes, and Ohio State will shock the football world with a win that shouldn't really come as that great a surprise.
Line: USC -11
Must See Rating: (5 Hole in the Wall - 1 First Blood) ... 5
Fearless Prediction: Ohio State 27 ... USC 23

USC's defense will shutdown OSU Early. Because of this, Beanie will leave the game early to save his foot so he can still compete for the Heisman.

USC has gone 7-0 against the Big Ten by a total score of 268-91, or an average of 37-13. To take this even further, Northwestern, in the 41-32 loss to the Keyshawn Johnson-led Trojans in the 1996 Rose Bowl, was the last Big Ten team to get more than 18 points against USC.

I'm on SoCal -11 but pretty small. I just look at OSU and dont see equal talent, speed, ability, etc anywhere. OSU just doesn't have the guns to score. If SoCal loses it's more bec they played poorly than anything OSU will have done.

OSU's defense is good enought to keep it to less than 11. I'd still take the points. The only way this gets out of hand is if Boeckman turns the ball over.

Beanie Wells has single handily screwed what was going to be by biggest play of this young CFB season. Had he not gotten injured, he would of ran for 200 yards against Ohio and the Bucks would of won easily. Then this line would of been closer to -6.5 or -7. With enough OSU action to keep it at that line where I then could of POUNDED the Trojans in every kind of bet imaginable. But since he got hurt and the world knows (or soon will know) that Todd Boeckman is trash as a QB and EVERYONE is on OSU thinking this will be a blowout (which it wont). When there is big money on 1 side in a primetime football game that = automatic no play for me because these types of games is where Vegas sneaks a fast one on us. Good luck to you all playing this one....if I play it, it will be in a small teaser but nothing more. :toast:

Some vegas odds have USC -11.5

OSU has a lot to prove. OSU defense might be the best but can the offense perform. If B. Wells shoots his foot up like he should then the offense can do some real damage. I just don't see OSU passing game taking them to the end zone. The 2nd string RB who is also last name Wells (2nd team) has some skills and speed but does not hit the hole fast enough. He kinda dances through the hole.

If OSU gets 14 pt I think they might be good play or this might be a no play for me. Tough game to go heavy on.

Wells won't play guys. That way when Ohio St. loses to USC, but ends the season with only one loss, they can use the excuse that they didn't have Wells the first time and deserve a rematch in the National Championship game against USC(or whoever, if USC doesn't finish with 1 loss or less). A sickening reality to college football fans everywhere
