There starting pitcher, Simmons, has not pitched for a month. He is facing a lawsuit for allegedly sleeping with a 16 year old and was suspended for two weeks during the season for drinking. In his last outing, Youngstown State hit him pretty hard. Keep pressing Texas, I hope I get +220 for UGA. No value in Texas, SEC is not the dog league everyone on here makes it out to be. 2 of the last 4 teams in Omaha are from the SEC.

Everyone, everywhere is on Texas. Is it warranted - probably. Will they win - most likely. Can they lose - of course they can, it is a game and there is a line. Much larger upsets happen all the time.

I will back Georgia for a small play and root for the dog to take one.

Best of luck.

All his personal Issues is only going to make him more $$$$ in the majors.

I had a nephew who just graduated a year ago and he was a pitcher for Navy. ( threw one of only 5 no hitters for Navy - Mathew Cooney)

anyways he said when you play baseball in the NCAA and you go to all these tournaments and road games, the Lefties with good stuff were regarded Superstars already in the college ranks. Their fate was already sealed for stardom.

They would allwalk around, and say

" Hey there is that lefty kid from ..... and he has nasty shit"

This TEXAS kid has nasty shit

Thanks, Duke

Having watched Texas in this CWS and hearing many here announcing that Tex would kill Ga, I was about to take them -1.5 (I would never lay -220+) until I read your article. Very astute observations about the Texas pitcher, as opposed to others that just YELL and proclaim a slaughter.

Any insights on the pitching match-up in the late game? I know SC's starter had a gd opener vs CS Fullerton, but now they've seen him once.

South Carolina's starter came in relief in their first matchup with Cal State and pitched well. I have not seen Cal State's pitcher pitch so I do not know much about him. But after watching the first 2 Cal State games I can tell you that Cal State's Coach Horton has absolutely ZERO confidence in his bullpen and I know this guy will not go the distance for the Titans. Windsor threw 147 pitches and Romero threw 137. Can you say Tommy John surgery? South Carolina is swinging a hot stick and I expect this to continue. Cal State got a monster effort from the hottest pitcher in college in Windsor in Game 1, I expect South Carolina to get their revenge today and a second matchup against Windsor. South Carolina -115 is my play. And for those that laid the wood with Texas, you were lucky. UGA needed to get to the 7th with the lead and could not do it. When you bet baseball you bet starting pitching and Simmons from Texas was way overpriced. He is a stiff and has much more on his mind than baseball. I hope Texas starts that stiff in the championship series because it will be the biggest bet of my life. My guess is Garrido will put that guy on the shelf unless absolutely needed in Game 3.

"My guess is Garrido will put that guy on the shelf unless absolutely needed in Game 3." DUKE, COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE, BUT DON'T THINK IT WILL GO 3 GAMES....TEXAS PITCHING AND HITTING (DISPLAYED TODAY) WILL SWEEP IN 2....MAYBE TX WAS A LITTLE LUCKY TODAY BUT IT SHOWED THEIR HEART...DOWN EARLY BUT FOUGHT BACK TO WIN SHOWS ALOT IN A TEAM...2 AND OUT..HOOK'EM

You don't win the SEC tournament wihtout a ton of pitching in South Carolina has it. I can see why Horton is trying to get Romero and Windsor to the operating table for Tommy John. Hey Windy, can you please tell Kurt Suzuki to get his hands of off his throat, 1-11 in CWS with an army left on base. I hope Kurt enjoys carrying Landon Powell's jock in the minors. The SEC is really getting exposed as 2 of the last 4 are from the SEC. South Carolina will win it all, they are a complete team. Watch out Windsor, revenge is sweet and all those pitches over the last few weeks are sure to come back and bite you in the ass tommorrow. One more thing Mr. Left Coast, LSU would have beat USC this year in football. I would have loved to have seen USC try to move the ball on LSU's defense.
