OK, I'll be the first to tell you I am a Husky homer, but Baylor giving my 10.5 points seems a bit charitable.

I understand this years Baylor squad is improved, and I am not suggesting UCONN wins this game outright but the UCONN defense is very stingy and should keep this game within single digits.

Thoughts?
(waiting on the gratuitous H1pp1eK1ller UCONN cheerleader reference)

One of the reasons is people probably can't remember the last time Baylor was laying DD...I know I can't. UConn is a well coached team and most likely won't beat themselves but, their injury woes have been well documented. Baylor finally has legit playmakers on defense on all 3 levels plus a heckuva coach in Briles. Baylor is a threat to score on every play due to Griffin and I'm not sure the same can be said about UConn.

Another possible angle is the weather, I haven't checked the forecast for Waco but if it's hot and humid that could take its toll on the UConn players later in the game. That's not good when you're trying to chase down an elusive QB. I do think UConn keeps it close for a while, but eventually the superior talent and/or the weather will allow Baylor to pull away in the 2H.

^ Agreed. I think Baylor wins by 10 at least here simply b/c UCONN won't score and Griffin is tough for even a good D.

From what I hear Cody Endres (All State HS out of PA) was a deadly accurate passer (I understand this is a different level for him) and is very smart.
I don't know if coach Edsall will go conservative with him.

I'm on the under, considring taking the points, hoping I can get 11 plus.

Even though the only live action I saw Baylor in was against Wake Forest, I thought their defense was not afraid to lower the boom. I hope Baylor can force a few fumbles with a some stout licks to help with getting great field position to capitalize upon. Is a shut out at home to much to ask for? Sure would be nice for Baylor Backers.
