I really just sympathize for their situation... come on, they are sitting in a john all day to get by. Gladly toss em a buck... I am really selfish because I really only give panhandlers, homeless and others in bad situations money so I can feel better. I walk away and smile because I thought of someone else instead of myself or instread of just ignoring them. It actually has more to do with that you are acknowledging that the person is there... that they exist. That is what they really appreciate the most I believe... and a buck here and there adds up. I remember there was a famous homeless guy in DC, Georgetown arean who always showed up in the summer time, late 80s. A reporter found out he was a millionare but liked the lifestyle and when interviewing the guy he claimed to clear 35k tax free very summer. I was in shock but makes sense if in the right area with the right disposition. Alot of Americans bashing but they are actually fairly generous, government aid as well to foreign countries. Billions of dollars that we always end up forgiving...
