care to comment, ill start off with a few.
1. Johnny Vandemeer's (Back to Back NO Hitters), this record cannot be broken, think about it,, it takes 3 in a row to break it, 2 only would tie... This is a good record or feat to look at because it doesnt matter what time frame that it was in..
2. Dimaggio's 56 game hitting streak, this is my personal favorite record and i dont think it gets beat (maybe not approached).. Rose at 44 was still 12 away... this record also doenst matter about the time frame.. Dimaggio then went on to hit in another 25 straight after this record was broken,, so he hit in 71 of 72 games..
3. Cy Young career wins,, this record should not be counted on my list because its highly catered to the era that it was in.. 512 will not be broken, when we barely get to 300 now days..
would also like you to look at most doubles in a season, the HR record fell many times before the doubles record has.
Strikeouts by Ryan also is safe, both season and career..
Dont you just love Dimaggio's hit streak, the best record in baseball, (easily).. Heard a couple of guys talking about people out in Montana-- when this streak was going on.. all they would have to say is "did he get one today" and you knew what they were talking about..
