Yesterdays game went nothing like I expected. Who would have guessed Schilling gets shelled and Mussina pitches perfect. Seemed like ump didn't give Schilling anything close and rung up Boston's hitter on the close pitches. Godzilla hit a tough pitch for a double. I should have added Boston over as a play.

Back when I did tons of handicapping in baseball I almost always just played totals. I am going to mainly stick to the totals with opinions on the games.

Houston-St. Louis
Impression is the total is too high, my opinion is toward the under. With Stl the heavy favorite and a line of 10.5 it means the teams have to score 1.23 runs per inning if the game only goes 8.5 innings which seems to high to me. In regard to the side, Stl is probably the right side but there is no way I would lay 240.

Boston-NYY
My opinions of totals is as follows: the line is based on the pitchers. My theory is I will make my wager based on the team first and the pitchers second. Those of you who have played baseball know that hitting is contagious. When guys are hitting it seems like everyone hits and when noone is hitting, the team can't buy a hit. I had one of my best streaks ever playing Colorado of all teams under the total they went under 23 straight games home and away. On the pitcher I look at how they do as a pitcher not era. Woody Williams a few years ago went 22-3 or some crazy number to the under. He pitched good enough to stay under and got terrible run support. Which brings us to tonight. Boston 19-3 to the over last 22 games, NYY 10-9 the last 19 to the over, Pitchers are both 6-4 last 10, Martinez 12-7 last 19 to over including 4-0 last 4.
You will never see me endorse the evil empire in any game even if it is the right side. Last week I loved NYY in first five against twinkies and didn't play it and it won. Yankees are everything wrong in baseball and their fans are a pain in the ass. They can brag when they win the world series on a payroll of $50,000,000 like Minnesota, Milwaukee, Cincy, Oakland or Kansas City are trying to do. Yankees have great sucess against Martinez and he seems to tire late in the yearwhich should help our over.

Plays

4* Boston over 10 (I can only hope it gets there with Boston scoring 11 runs al by themselves)

1* fun parlay Boston over 10 / Houston Under 10.5

NS,

Are you going under the assumption that Martinez will get hit hard? Lieber will get hit hard? or that both will get hit thus leading to the over. Thanks.

I think it will be a high scoring affair, with totals it really doesn't matter to me who scores just so long as they score. From a fan standpoint I want Boston to win therefore I want them to score more runs, but that is just from a fan standpoint. Martinez seems somewhat psyched out by the Yankees which could lead to more runs. My main theory on o/u is how the teams are hitting as a group. Hopefully the baseball looks like a beachball to the hitters tonight and they keep on hitting. This theory is extremely logical and works extremely well during the regular season. The downside is in the playoffs the games change slightly, players play more tense, managers pull pitchers quicker, emotions come more into play, things like that. Follow teams first and foremost in regular season and you will win. I started adding umpires to the o/u equation to the mix and quite frankly it sounds logical but it seems to goof things up more than help. I put little to no weight on the umpire

As always, good luck!!

Thanks for your reply. I found out in life along time ago I enjoy being around people who are positive and upbeat. That carma of positiveness helps bring positive results for them and those around them. I have lurkered on this sight for a long time. The ones who complain and bash others usually don't handicap at all. They lose money and want to blame someone else and call them stupid and poor handicappers. The reason for this is because that is easier for them than handicapping the game themselve, betting and losing and then not having anyone to blame but themselves.

I gave MG Man on this sight his nickname and he can probably verify alot of what I ever say as facts. A couple of quick stories then I have other obligations. I once hit 22 games in a row during the last week of baseball and the start of the playoffs. My best run ever. I am probably the only person on this sight to ever be denied a $10 bet at a sportsbook in vegas. (this is a great story I will have to tell you sometime) It still shocks me that in vegas a $10 quinella bet at a major race track and not one but five major casinos liek Ceasars Palace said "sorry sir but we don't want your action". I have great understanding of the gambling world, casinos, sports services and I am constantly looking for an edge which can help the average joe make money or for that matter just break even and have fun doing it. I hope I can add some insight into the sports gambling with ideas I have read or discovered on my own and how the might benifit the other players at the rx.

Thanks Again and as always good luck!!

Forum viewers,

He does know his stuff, problem is I give him a 7* Dog GOY winner last night and because he's bull headed he won't play NY. He's taught me more about gambling then anyone I know and has been a proven winner. Has lots of contacts.

GL guys/ladies and you to bull headed NStar.

Well at least I got off the snide and won a posted play. Figures it would be on a night when I wasn't extremely fond of the card. Was fortunate to win the under in baseball and Stl. on the run line and being down 3-0. In the football Louisville impressed me and I was fortunate to get Miami home on the moneyline. I would always rather be lucky than good. I'll be back Friday with more selections. I will be on the over in the baseball I am not sure what the ranking will be.

MG - I can't believe you think I am bull headed after all these years. I am looking forward to hoops!!
