Although its fun to catch a foul ball to take home, a home run ball has more meaning to the game.

I am sure they will still hand them out to the little ones in the front row. Still plenty of balls to throw away somewhere.

I'm surprised more fans aren't injured.

Been saying that for years. Baseball is generally a very slow paced game with lots of downtime between action and probably the most family friendly sport with alot of kids. So easy not to be paying attention throughout 225 pitches. It's kinda like when I was a kid and I would intentionally overshoot the ball on this Par 3 because a major road was right behind it. I figured it was 50/50 if I hit a windshield

Nothing like the thrill of catching a foul ball.....I have "lucky" enough to catch (be hit by) 2 in my life....Both balls are on display in my sons room.....The first was a line shot into my stomach which I was able to hold onto...The second was another gut shot that bounced off me into a few empty seats in front of me and I was on the bottom of the scrum clutching that ball

I always go to the game with the anticipation of catching a foul ball. Hasn't happened yet.

Take that away and the game for me is just a little less exciting to go in person instead of watching it on TV.
