Barry hits #675 can The Babe's 714 be Reached this Season?

Barry Bonds hit his 17th home run of the year and 675th of his career in the first inning today against the O's Rodrigo Lopez. The homer in Camden Yards is the 37th different ballpark Bonds has hit a homer in, and the 400th different pitcher he has gone deep on. Next big milestone is 700 - then The Babe.

Bonds said during the rain delay last night, he didn`t expect to ever catch Henry Aaron, he also stated he would only play two more years no mater what.

I think he will need all of it to catch Aaron, there is very little room for a long injury at this point or a long drought. If they only would pitch to him...I don`t rule out him DH`ing in pinstripes either.

Very long shot for sure, but not impossible. Bonds needs to reach 56 for the season to tie. Another hot streak like he had in April, and all of a sudden he will have a shot.
