If thats the case then I stand corrected. I always thought walks and sacrifices didnt count.
I know they dont count against you when figuring your average, but also thought they didnt add to appearances.

Its insane the way he is pitched to...we will never see this again, or atleast many years will pass before we see this...

Remember when Brett hit .390 he was flirting with both .400 and whether he`d had enough plate appearances, because of the injury in the middle of that year...
There is a rule that allows a player to still collect the batting title if his plate appearances don`t qualify him...the remaining required plate appearances would count as 0-for how many he would need to qualify...

2 for 2 last night with 4 walks.... .525 batting ave. now. It's incredible. If he stays healthy, he can hit 800 or even 900 homers. If he averages 40 for another 6 years, he'd have a shot at 1000. He's the greatest hitter to ever live. Doesn't EVER seem to swing at a ball, and when he gets his pitch he's on it almost every time.
