And it was a horrible night for me personally....the uniforms were much more colorful , the socks pulled up to the knees, Sister Sledge and 'We are Family " was the song that will always stick in my mind, and seeing Omar Moreno's wife blowing the damn whistle:finger: ...
It was a Willie Stagell missile that put Pittsburgh in front for good and Baltimore blew a 3-1 series lead ,losing in 7 games to Chuck Tanner's Buc's and ending what was perhaps the Orioles most magical season, the 1979 season in Baltimore was one for the ages, the city got behind the Birds like no other season before it....the Birds won games every which way that season, many dramatic late inning thrillers, coining the phrase Orioles Magic....
Up 3-1, all set to celebrate yet another World Series title, and having Scott Mcgregor, Cy Young Winner, Mike Flanagan and HOF'er Jim Palmer lined up for the final 3 games, the series looked all but over. :sad3:
Ponson -120 @ Fogg :digit: , payback is a bitch! :lolBIG:
