The wife and I are headed out to Baltimore in a few weeks to catch a few O's games, eat, and get away for a weekend.

Can anyone give me some good suggestions regarding restaurants (crabs and seafood mostly), bars, etc?

We're staying by the Inner Harbor Area if that helps.

Thanks in advance!@

Go to Phillips in the Inner Harbor for crab cakes. Maybe the best on earth. And Shub is right, see the aquarium.

In Fell's Point try John Steven Ltd. Crab dip and steamed shrimp both off the charts.

You will probably have to cab it to these places but they are fairly close to the harbor and worth it imo.

Food:

Fogo De Chao
, Not sure if you're looking to devour a ton of meat but if you are check this place out. All you can eat Brazilian Steakhouse with excellent selections. About $55/person.

Mama's on the half shell, located in Canton Square, a bunch of decent bars in this area as well within walking distance. Will be fairly crowded on the weekend.

Nick's Fish House, very good seafood and atmosphere. Nothing fancy but I haven't been disappointed any time i've been here.

Faidley Seafood, if you're looking for crabcakes. Again not fancy but well worth it.

Bars:

Federal Hill or Canton Square are your best bet. Each have plenty of bars within walking distance. Fyi some turn into club type atmospheres later at night and on the weekends. Federal Hill also has very good sushi dive in Cross Street Market. I typically head here before Raven games and knock back a few 32 oz draft beers.

Whatever you do, do not go to Power Plant Live. Sure it will look interesting and close but it's the super young crowd, over priced and lame imo.

Any other questions just yell.

North baltimore about 10 minutes from preakness rd. Is this old bar on the corner called Swallow at the Hallow. It's been around since the 60's and was featured on diners, drive ins, and dives. Place is small but is a gem for bar food. Really good appetizers, crab cakes, wings, and burgers. Reasonable prices.

For pitt beef I would go to Chaps on the east side. Also on tripple D. Or pioneer pitt beef on the west side.

Trying to think of seafood places in particular. You got Jimmys Seafood in Dundalk(tripple d again). But honestly everywhere sells crab crakes in baltimore.

Fogo de chao is overwhelming. Lol If you want gout then go here lol. They have a much needed salad bar here thank god. I didn't eat meat for weeks after I went here.

Awesome! Great suggestion guys. Im going to try and go to as many of these places as possible.

How about a spot for whole crabs that I can crack with a mallet and eat?
