What is Bovada doing? I've seen this practice consistently on their site. If you want the Pitt/Denver game you aren't given the 7 point actual line they are using 9. That's nice if you want Pitt except for the whopping -150 odds. If you want Denver all you get is +120 but your giving an extra 3. How can Bovada stay competitive with this practice? I will only be placing that game local and I'm outta there next year.

for starters Bovada always shades there lines toward the favorites. They also are notorious for raising 7-7.5 lines to 9 for teaser protection. Get a new real book like 5dimes and keep a few bucks on Bovada to play dogs

Bovada is a play only dogs book IMO as well. Many better outs than them for most bets.

how many times does a game land on 8 or 9 when the spread is 7.5-9? Almost never.

This Bovada is really bad news. I put in a wager that Manning would have over 1/2 Ints early before the Carolina game. When I went in at 4:20 I see the wager marked 'Cancelled'. I'm thinking I guess Oswieler must be getting the nod. Well as we now know Manning played. Now the end to this story is he threw no pic's so I would have lost....... lucky for me right? Well back at the Bovada site I see the wager is present and accounted for and no longer marked 'cancelled' and yes a loss for me.

I intend to call about this tomorrow but having dealt with them in the past I doubt I'll get more than a "you should be more careful" type of reply like I made some kind of mistake.

I should have quit these guys long ago however I assure you next season I'll be a Bovada ghost.

they are good if you have other books which you always should. No complaints from them and get my free check monthly from them all the time in quick fashion.

I agree payouts are hassle free but that's the only good part of big 'B'.
I opened a Bookmaker account today and I was pleasantly surprised to find it free of fee's.

All these years & you didn't have a bookmaker account? How so? Bovada is like Bodog was, shady as sh*t!

Alright. Hesitant giving this out but it's quite obvious (more-so for poker, less so for sports). Bovada is extremely weighted toward dogs usually by at least 1 point. Anyone serious about betting sports (online at least) should have multiple books available. I can think of at least 5+ times this year where I would have won the game had I shopped for lines prior in the week. It happens every year and even if it only happens 2-3 times, it still cuts into your bottom line pretty seriously. I've played professional poker online as my sole/only source of income for the good part of the past 13 years and I've been on Bovada since it's came out (Bodog, FTP/Stars before that). It's a great book for dogs and to be honest I'm betting (or trying) to bet dogs as much if not more than I'm trying to bet favorites. Their payouts have been very fast for me, sometimes some small hiccups, and all the money I make goes onto a mastercard that they sent me which is very cool. Takes about 2 days max.

Not feeling the bovada hate. It's an amazing book for dogs and an ever better book for poker. You have all the guys who think they are the next coming of god at handicapping testing their luck at poker and that's all I'm going to say about that. I use 5dimes/Bookmaker for favorites.

The books do it to keep the teasers from getting lopsided on the chalks and public sides. The reduced odds are frequently not the same numbers. If you are taking a dog or non-public side it can work in your favor though.
