They just joined a national strike that has being going on since monday, protesting against an international company that handles all car inspections in the country, among other things against the goverment.
All main roads in the country were shut down by truck drivers yesterday. The roads were reopened early this morning by the local police, but word is, many other goverment institutions will joined the strike today and tomorrow.

P.S. Last night, trying to get to Terra Mall in Curidabad, at 9pm, I ran into a fire blockade on the highway. Seems some happy ticos places some wooden chairs, tires, and other stuff in a line across the highway and set in on fire...had to take a 20 minute detour to get to the mall.
btw, The Chronicles of Riddick was ok at best.
