Few sentences about my picks while I have some time:
1) D-Backs -135
Barry Enright and the D-Backs are favored? Who the hell is Enright and why the hell is Arizona ever favored? Well they are favored, and rightfully so, for a few reasons:
1) They are home to Washington.
2) Ross Detwiller is pitching for Washington.
3) I really like this Enright kid. Since his call-up hes pitched very well: 6 starts/6 QUALITY starts, 2.73 era. I think he will give the Nats some trouble tonight. I would have made this line closer to -145. So I like the value here.
2) Indians +195
The Indians are playing loose now. They have some young kids who can hit. On the other hand, for the Red Sox this is a bad situation for them for a few reasons:
1) They start a 4 game set vs the Yankees tomorrow. A look ahead game on a get-away day is not a good combination.
2) Without Youkilis and Pedroia in this lineup, its marginally good at best. Ellsbury is back. But it might take him time to get going. He was 0-5 last night. The bottom 3rdof the lineup is a joke.
3) Dice-K. You just never know what to expect from him. And at -200 too?
3) Rangers +100
At first glimpse you'd think that this is a great price for Felix. Only -110? But the M's just dont hit the ball. Felix has pitched many 8 inning games where he either got a loss or a no decision. Hunter has had a very good season. A coming out party. The Rangers could mash. And I definitely dont trust League or Aardsma with the game on the line for Seattle. A playoff team, with a good pitcher as a dog to a team that cant hit? Give me the doggie.
