do you like your boy scoggins Friday night?

He came home for this training camp, away from ATT in Coconut Creek, Fl. Sara McMann and his own personal brother have been heavy training partners. It's been a pleasure to have him around. They left Monday to go to Conn. He is ready. I really like him to bounce back strong here. I can't lie and say I'm a little surprised in the decently huge fav at -245, but as stated before he even hit the scene, the UFC knows what they have here in Justin "Tank" Scoggins. Moraga is a valid opponent. Solid striking, decent wrestling , and good power. I think Tank is a tad better overall though, and the youth and what this means for the march to that Gold pays off here. It should be a great fight. Looking forward to it...

Side note: I hope Benavidez destroys Ortiz, and I really think he does.

Fwiw, I like the over or the 3 round decision prop on this fight. Both guys are good grapplers, technical strikers, and neither get finished very often (Scoggins never, Moraga against DJ and Dodson only - who I'd argue are the best 2 in the division by a large margin - maybe add JoeB to that group too). To me, this is more fair than the line indicates although I lean Scoggins (I'd put him more as a -150). The most important thing for Scoggins is to push the pace, in and out, force scrambles. Moraga wants to control him from top or on the cage to eliminate the pace and speed.

I completely agree.

We have worked a substantial amount on clinch control and Thai for this fight. Tank's intentions are to come back strong with a KO finish, but the over and goes to a decision are great bets.

Good luck and enjoy the fight. this should be a great fight, and an excellent overall card.

What other leans do you guys have?

i like Oliveira (even though missing weight by 5 lbs concerns me), Chiesa, Natal, Derrick Lewis, and then I like Pat Curran in the Bellator show. I also like Jacare-Mousasi under 2.5 or one of the "doesn't start round 4" type of props. What about you guys? And I welcome disagreements.

Mousasi at those odds is definite wager for me.

Curran also.

Like Oliviera too. I don't know if he chose to give up some of the purse or cut the 4 lbs needed in 2 hours. Saw him apologize to Dana.

Lewis should be too much for Mitrione, unless he tires out.

I actually like Camozzi.

Will also play Rothwell at +450. Value there to me as Reem hasn't impressed me in quite awhile, and he can go lights out if Rothwell can hit him. I see a quick fight either way.

I hate to be a "line bettor", but it's just very odd to me that Mousasi is paying 5/2 even though he won the first fight with Jacare, he's been in a recent main event and great outing against machida, and most of the mma boards are all over Moose-Saucy. That's the only thing steering me off that one. However, I think it'll go under if Gegard can defend Tds. Jacare depends on big power and the ground game. That overextension/desperation will cause him to go night night if he can't impose his will.

Agree on everything. I think it's very odd too on the line. In fact, I see value written all over this card...

I think Camozzi won that fight. Lost 1st, and won rounds 2 and 3.
