NEW YORK -- The price of oil plunged 9 percent Tuesday to its lowest level in more than two months as traders bet that the impending United States invasion of Iraq would go smoothly and that global stockpiles of crude are sufficient to offset any supply disruptions.

The entire premise of the article is dead wrong. The lead up to a war is when oil prices increase only to DECREASE significantly after the war. Oil prices have already begun to drop (nearly 10%) in the past few days just on the news that the war would begin shortly.

Adolf and Japan did the exactly the same thing.
Invading countries so they could secure oil supplies in Romania/Russia and the Dutch East Indies.
