Is the pointspread going up from -6.5? Please chime in as to what you think the line is going to do. Some posters seem to think that line will go to as high as -7.5.

Believe it will only go as high as 7 as the books will want to be careful not to get middled in this game. In another thread in the Offshore Forum on the same subject, it was said that the Vegas sportsbooks managers released the number at 7 and expected the public to be on New England and the professionals to take Carolina. I think it moves down as game day approaches.

I guess at least one place has it at +7 according to one of the threads here. Olympic has the money line at +215. I will be going to Vegas in a couple of days to shop around. I am going to hammer the hell out of the money line and the normal line. I feel Carolina is a better team then New England and should not have a problem beating them. My only concern is Belichick. The man is a god. And I am not that high on Fox. I dont think he is that smart and I think he is definitely on the conservative side. The only advantage that NE has in this game is Coaching and at QB.

As long as Fox dosent get the sh!t outcoached of him this should be the Panthers ballgame. Whats the status of Bruschi?

I to believe the line will go down in the following 2 weeks.

Game time will probably be -6.5 or -6.0

You made this statement but apparantly dismiss it. To me, I will have to think long and hard before I bet against the better coach and QB in a Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally know what youre saying. However, I think Jake is a good QB so I dont think the QB advantage is that great. But Belichick is a god. Thats the only thing that makes me hesitate. Also, I think Fox is kind of dumb. Having said all that, I still like Carolina to win the game flat out.

As mentioned earlier in a separate thread. I absolutely love Carolina ML & CAR + whatever is out there.

I'm placing this bet w/o hesitation.

I don't know how Carolina will run the ball with Ted Washington in the middle. They did win me a nice prop by them winning the conference.

Thank you Carolina.

at wagerline, over 70 percent are already on carolina. So i would doubt the line would rise. I think the general public see this as 2 evenly matched up teams so they will go with the live dog.

Note: 11 of the last 12 superbowls have been decided by 7 or more points.

I think Carolina will go toe-to-toe with New England. After all is said an done I think Carolina has the better defense, can run the ball better and last but not least this game will be played in warm weather not in a snow storm.

Rushing offense and rushing defense who has the best?

I dont think that it will go past 7pts., if anything, the books would just move the juice odds.

One thing I feel we are going to see, is alot of bs hype on how these teams , especially Carolina can light it up. I see news shows promoting the SB, as right now everyone is thinking this will be a low scoring and boring game. Dont buy in to the SB promotions and how these teams may score alot. Def will probably not be the most talked about issue for theses teams. But their Offenses will be more in the spotlight. Offense sells tickets and is what people like to see. Alot of Off. But we all know that Def is the Key, right. Anyways, I think people will be all over the Pats. in this one. I think the Public will think that Carolina's last three games was against teams which are not as good as this proven super Bowl winner in Brady and the Pats. Still line wont go past 7pts. JMO

my concern is what will john q public do to this line? this is the biggest gambling event of the year and now casual observers will be placing uneducated bets.just to be able to tell friends hes got THE BIG BET.so is it best to bet now or wait?i truly do hope the novices out there see this as a bad matchup. poor carolina who was 1-15 2 years ago about to get whacked by a team who beat the greatest show on turf 2 years ago.please lord let that be the way america thinks. i love the points here and if this line goes to 7.5 ill have an orgasm.lmao.i think the total is a bit of a trap too. it should be set at 41 so i look for it to rise. if it goes down i love the over.~6killer

I would be very suprised if the line went under 6. I think it is more likely to end up on 7. It should rise as the masses get down. And 7.5 is really possible. So I would wait to bet Carolina.

Just the way I see it

sixkiller,
Maybe you can answer my question. In Britain, gambling is legal and the Public has full access to it. Nobody is more than 5 minutes away from making a bet. On big games such as The Cup Final, you have what you call"casual observers placing uneducated bets". these people are only occasional bettors and in big games are the majority of the population.

As Gambling is illegal in the States, how does the same type of person get on. I would think anybody who has a betting account would hardly be called a casual observer and less likely to make an uneducated bet than his counterpart in Britain.

I would say most of the casual betting happens in Las Vegas. Alot of people from all over the country and all over the world travel to Vegas on vacation in the two weeks prior to the Super Bowl and place wagers on it. You can just mail in your winning ticket after the game and they mail you a check. So I would say that the casual betters are the people visiting Vegas in that two week time frame and betting on the Super Bowl.

However, there is probably a decent number of people who just open an offshore account to bet on the Super Bowl and do a one and done thing also.

everyone knows someone who has an offshore account but they dont care to bet themselves. so now youve got friends getting in on thier buddys account and making thier bets. vegas, reno, atlantic city..anyone with $25 in thier pocket will place a FUN wager but these are the uneducated novice gamblers. guys face it were handicappers who take our time to do the research to arrive at the best opinion we can get on a game. thres not a whole lot like us here so now were waiting for them to spend thier money and see which way the line goes. im 5 miles from the border. i place my bets in tijuana.if the line is 7 in most places its 7.5 down there. i bet against the public alot and win.this is a great game to grab points. i believe the pats will win but they dont blow out anyone and carolina wont be the 1st.
